Influential Black Content Creators in Philadelphia

 

Diversity is imperative to the expansion and growth of creativity, and Black History Month allows us to appreciate this within our own communities and industries. We believe at Philly PR Girl it is essential to stay connected with the voices that shape and define our local culture. In the spirit of recognizing the influence of Black individuals in Philadelphia, we have highlighted some Influential Black Content Creators who contribute to the social scene of our beloved city. 


@Josheatsphilly

Starting strong with local foodie Josh, popularly known as @josheatsphilly who is changing the fine dining and casual takeout scene. Josh dives into the heart of the city’s food scene, showcasing not only the tantalizing dishes but also the diverse stories that make each bite special. Davida Janae is the creative force behind the Philadelphia-based fashion and lifestyle blog, @VidaFashionista. Besides her individual brand, Davida Janae makes appearances on NBC10 Philly Live, FOX29, and QVC+. Since 2015, she has immersed herself in the content creation world, using her platforms to motivate and inspire Black women to embrace their unique purposes. Corey is a passionate influencer marketer, providing insight and building his presence through collaborations with a diverse clientele. When it comes to the world of art and creativity we instantly think of Soku Massimo. @sokumassimo wears multiple hats as a stylist, creative consultant, model, creative director, artist, fine art photographer, and alchemist. His design account, @SokuMassimoDesigns, serves as a canvas for his diverse talents, showcasing a mix of clothing, upcycled projects, paintings, and home decor. Soku is creative and doesn’t consider himself a creator, but we love to follow and support all the content he shares. At the core of Soku’s art is a genuine passion for the creative process. He leads as an inspiration for creativity in Philadelphia. His work goes beyond the ordinary, with each piece telling a story and inviting viewers into his world and imagination. With an eye for trends and an authentic approach to delivery, Coco Chinelo shares with us how to style outfits, shares beauty tips, and visits the hottest spots to explore around the city. She connects with her local audience by working with large notable brands while also highlighting small Philly businesses. Her journey doesn’t stop on Instagram; Coco Chinelo’s growing YouTube channel is how she expands upon her fresh perspective and relatable content. There, she deep dives into the essence of womanhood and navigating relationships within college life. Following her is discovering a unique perspective of a young black woman furthering her education and finding herself in Philadelphia.

Gillie Da Kid and Wallo to Philly, @mworthofgame to the world, are renowned media personalities and entrepreneurs from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Most known as the co-hosts of the widely successful “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast on the Barstool network, they both embody and pride themselves on their personal connections to Philadelphia. Gillie with his recent Gillie fest held this past summer, and Wallo’s speeches about accountability and collaborations uplift the community. Wallo used his time incarcerated in combination with the rise of social media to launch a platform, creating a community based on Philly style positivity. They are most recognized for their genuine personalities on social media and for local philanthropic acts.
