With Mental Health Awareness Month coming to an end, we’re sharing how our team implements mental health practices into our daily lives! Here is our guide to taking care of your mental health!
Physical Activity
- “I love to take long walks with my dog Coco. It’s the perfect way to implement physical activity in my day, spend time with Coco, and clear my head!” – Kate, Owner
- “Any physical activity pumps your endorphins and increases your sense of well-being. Having a good workout and sweating it out always makes me feel better!” – Dani, Marketing Assistant
Creating Boundaries
- “Creating boundaries is one of the hardest things we can do. We tend to make ourselves available to everyone and everything which results in little time for ourselves. Creating boundaries will help you say no, put your mental health first, and understand that it is okay to say no and it is okay to prioritize yourself!” – Andrianna, Digital Marketing and Communications Associate.
Spend Time in Nature
-
- “Spending time in nature makes you feel better emotionally and reduces the production of stress!” -Dominique, PR Coordinator
- “Take a walk, go on a run, or take the opportunity to read or listen to a podcast while in nature!” – Zoe, PR Assistant
Self Care
- “Taking time to focus on yourself is crucial in improving mental health. Most of the time we are too busy worrying that we neglect ourselves. I love to run a bubble bath and journal to express my feelings and indulge in some self-care.” – Carlie, PR Assistant
- “I love taking a long drive and listening to music to clear my head.” – Griffin, Marketing Assistant
- “I love to have a clean space to come home to and enjoy a movie and facemask!” – Lina, PR and Special Events Coordinator
Feel, Talk, and Seek Help
- “I like to take time to validate and feel all my feelings.” – Jess, PR Assistant
- “Having someone to talk to and express your feelings to always makes me feel better!” -Shannon, Digital Media Coordinator
- “I believe in the importance of seeking help and not being afraid to do so!” – Katerina, PR Coordinator
It’s never too late to start working on your mental health! Remember that working on your mental health isn’t a sprint, but a marathon! Take time to evaluate what practices work for you and hold yourself accountable! Mental Health Awareness Month may be coming to an end, but prioritizing your own mental health should never end!
