We’re reflecting on the immense success and paths these women have paved for others. They’re inspiring and passionate which is what drives the honor and dedication to what is, Women’s History Month! 

In honor of this month, we’re highlighting some of Philadelphia’s very own women who have opened businesses right here in our city. From food to tailored services, it’s all being offered in Philadelphia. There are stories behind each business and its staff/owners, which we encourage you to research and delve into! Today, we’re taking some time to recognize these amazing women who have worked so hard to make a difference in what is, gender equality!

Spring is almost here, and a fresh cleanout might be just what you need! Marlena opened Philly Neat Freaks hoping to make life easier for home or business owners. She realized she had a knack for organization and decluttering and figured why not use it! They offer services such as area organization, move management, consulting, and donation pickups. Living in the city, or anywhere really, it can be difficult to manage all the things we accumulate throughout our lives, moving, working, or whatever it may be. Next up, we’re introducing you to Mindy Foster, the mamapreneur. Mindy opened She Sugars Co as a hair removal specialist after spending much time traveling teaching other estheticians her sugaring technique. Once she found some major errors in the industry, she decided to take the reins. Their business focuses on brazilians and underarm hair removal. What differentiates them from the others is their dedication to client comfort and care. They refrain from rushing their clients and instead make their experience one that they find seamless and effective. Check out Mindy’s Sugar Co., and no doubt they’ll be your new go-to!

 

Sea Philly

Ahoy to another female-owned business that pushes boundaries and is as creative as it is fun!

Sea Philly was made possible by Georgette Luna. She graduated with a Marketing degree and had experience as an outdoor tour guide. With her interests piqued, she started an experience that takes passengers on a boat tour of the Delaware and Schuylkill River in Philadelphia. The cruise is 4 hours and riders often bring or cater food, and drinks and enjoy some social time with friends or family under the sun. Sea Philly is an activity to embark on and something different to try out in the city of Philadelphia! 

 

State of Being

Something smells good… That would be none other than Beth Geddio’s State of Being Candle Shop. Located on South Street in Philadelphia is a charming candle store that amplifies purchasers’ inner worth and affirmations. Each candle is made to bring out scent, memory, and neuroplasticity and is rooted in helping other women better their mental health and thought patterns. They have been recognized in Forbes, Glamour, The Bump, and even The Oscars. It’s no wonder, this female-empowering shop is both fun and innovative. At State of Being, you can even take a workshop class and make your own candle! With a store that offers both DIY and purchase-made, you can’t go wrong! Cocktail Culture Co

Finishing off this spotlight is female business owner Jungeun Park! She founded Cocktail Culture Co located on 2nd Street in Philadelphia, to introduce an establishment that hosts cocktail-making events made perfect for birthdays, date nights, or team bonding events! You’ll be utilizing the best ingredients to make cocktails that genuinely taste good. This being introduced to Philly, gave the city more depth, making going out for drinks more than just going out for drinks. It created a whole new sphere of activity and fun for anyone 21+. Celebrate Women’s History Month with Junguen Park at her creative cocktail-making spot in Philadelphia!
