Happy Monday, Philly!

Oh boy, do we have another fun-filled list of events for this week in Philly! Our 6th Annual Turkey Day Tailgate is finally here! We cannot wait to partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence and O’Hara Home Team for the ultimate tailgating experience! As the holidays approach, there’s much to do to get ready for Thanksgiving and an early headstart on getting in the Christmas Spirit. Keep reading to find out what will be happening this week in Philly!

November 15

  • Discover Philly in a whole new way through solving a murder mystery, Mysteries on the Move: Scavenger Hunt in Philadelphia, of movie director Rex King who was visiting the city while filming in 1926. Do you think you can figure out whodunnit? 
  • Attend the virtual event, Philadelphia Job Fair, where HealthcareX connects healthcare professionals with their next employers. It’s just as effective as their in-person events as you have the chance to connect with more employers than ever from the comfort of your own home.

November 16

  • This one is for the kiddos! Join Ariel and her sea friends for Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” at Walnut Street Theatre. 
  • IDK began independently releasing music and marketing himself on social media, and now he has sold out shows under his belt and thousands of followers. Catch rapper IDK at The Foundry. 

November 17

  • Calling all dancing queens! It’s time to get loud at POPS Rocks ABBA: Mamma Mia and More at the Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall as conductor David Charles and the vocal group Rajaton bring the energy to the POPS for a night of ABBA’s best.
  • The holidays are coming which means there’s going to be lots of charcuterie boards getting posted. Learn tips and tricks for the perfect grazing board at the Charcuterie Chic Fall Workshop. Bring friends and learn the works of the board along with a complimentary glass of wine. This event will be in Level 3 of Industrious Fashion District

November 18

  • Want to have a Friendsgiving but don’t feel like cooking? Spend it at Drink Philly’s Friendsgiving Boat Party!
  • Commonweal’s* exhibition this month featuring Marian Bailey and Dora Cuenca is in full swing! Stop by before the end of the month to see art that celebrates the importance of belonging Thursdays to Sundays. Click here for more info!
  • See the Philadelphia Zoo transform into a shimmering winter wonderland this holiday season at LumiNature presented by Chase! Experience this dazzling excursion through lights, sounds, enhanced installations, and even surprises!

November 19

  • You might’ve seen it during the day, but wait until you see the Philly Magic Gardens After Dark! Explore both outdoor sculptures and indoor galleries! Hurry as tickets for this sparkly event are limited.
  • Don’t miss the authentic triple fiddle and three-part harmony sound of The Quebe Sisters at City Winery*. Watch Grace, Sophia, and Hulda Quebe as they take on an innovative Progressive Western Swing band of the archtop guitar, upright bass, fiddles, and sibling harmony.

November 20

  • Catch NextFab* and other local makers Miracle on American Street Art and Gift Market. With 40 local makers and artists along with music, activities for all ages, and food by local vendors, there will be much to do.
  • Join acclaimed artist, Zeph Farmby, at the opening of his Social Studies exhibition. Zeph imposes expressionist portraits of historical icons from the Civil Rights and Black Power era onto a popular ad campaign by Supreme. Attend the opening and listen to Zeph as he will discuss his exhibition and how it provides a visual sense of the cultural and political revolutionaries that paved the way to today’s social activism.

November 21

  • YAY!! Our ultimate tailgating experience, Turkey Day Tailgate*, is finally here! Join us, Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence, and O’Hara Home Team at the 6th Annual Turkey Day Tailgate hosted by Mike Jerrick! Don’t miss out on the ultimate tailgating experience, while supporting a good cause. You can still get tickets here!
  • Looking for something to do after Turkey Day Tailgate if you’re not going into the game? Head over to the Wintergarden presented by TD Bank on the Greenfield Lawn at Dilworth Park! Get into the holiday spirit early for whimsical-crafted reindeer topiaries, seasonal plantings, and an open-air layout. Children and adults are all welcome to explore the Wintergarden at no cost all season long!
