We hope everyone slept well this weekend because you won’t want to miss any of this week’s events. Spoiler alert: there’s a floating dance party, some free pizza, and a mimosa crawl!

August 9
  • Mondays are rough. Decompose after work at Bartram’s Garden’s Paint & Sip. At 6 p.m., participants will gather at the historic landmark and paint a blooming Franklin tree. Social distancing is enforced and the event is BYOB!
  • Discover your new favorite band at EBE Talent’s Bi-Weekly Band Showcase! Four local bands will take the stage and each will perform a 30 minute set. The concert begins at 7 p.m. 
August 10
  • Have you ever paired craft brews with authentic Filipino food? Well, now you can try this delicious combo: Tabachoy Philly is coming to Wissahickon Brewing Co.! The food truck will be there from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Plus, everyone is welcome—Wissahickon Brewing Co. is family and pet friendly!
  • Spend your morning at the Rittenhouse Farmers’ Market. The market has plenty of staples, like local produce and fresh baked goods, but even more specialty vendors: custom cards, whisky and beeswax products, just to name a few!
August 11
  • FREE pizza alert! Slice is offering a Taste of Independents Tour. All you have to do is download the Slice app, go to a local pizzeria, order a Margherita pie and show the cashier your app. Then voilà, you’ve got free pizza!
  • Test your knowledge at Games in the Garden! Thirsty Dice is hosting a trivia night from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Spring Gardens Community Garden. You can expect lots of food, fun and prizes. Reserve your ticket now!
August 12
  • Head up to Abington Art Center for an evening of Shakespeare! Theatre on the Verge is holding a production of the classic play “As You Like It.” Admission is free but donations are appreciated! 
  • You’ve heard of little libraries, but have you ever heard of a little library read-aloud? Well, you and the children in your life can head down to Tacony Creek Park for their Little Library Story Time
August 13
  • Join the Rail Park for their Sunset Summer Series! At 5:30 p.m., there will be a group meditation exercise. Then, composer and sound artist William Dougherty will begin his sound installation/performance “In dark times, will there also be singing?” The audience will be encouraged to participate in the music!
  • Spending the weekend in Cape May? Be sure to check out Honky Tonkin at the Emlen Physick Estate! The Rev Theatre Company will be performing a variety of classic country songs from artists like Hank Williams and Loretta Lynn.
August 14
  • Cosmic Rhythms at the Viaduct has everything: live music, delicious cocktails, a vinyl record pop-up, and more! Head down to the Rail Park’s garden at 10 p.m. and let loose! Tickets start at $10 dollars and the event is 21+.
  • Experience Philly’s first ever floating dance party! Guests will don glowing headphones and dance through the streets of Philly. What the Float begins at 12 Steps Down and ends wherever you desire. For the night, Philadelphia is your dancefloor!
August 15
  • Great news: the Philadelphia Mimosa Crawl is back! Hop along some of the city’s best bars for $5 mimosas and $3 beers. Guests will meet and party at Xfinity Live! from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to plenty of drinks, there’ll be a silent disco, karaoke, bull riding and DJs! 
  • You can support local artists, creatives and entrepreneurs by shopping their beautiful handmade creations! Cherry Street Pier is hosting the 2021 Artist and Artisans Market. From 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., you can take a stroll through the pier and buy one-of-a-kind pieces while enjoying the beautiful view of the Ben Franklin Bridge.
