Happy Monday, Philly!

There’s no better place to spend July 4th than our wonderful city, which just happens to be America’s birthplace! We’ve got tons of patriotic activities lined up for you this week. Plus, there are some non-festive events geared toward art lovers, sports fanatics, and foodies!

June 28

  • Zen out at UnOrthodox Yoga! Violet Vine Yoga is hosting not one, but two, yoga classes at the Bridesburg Recreation Center. The children’s class is first at 6 p.m. and the all-ages class is at 7 p.m. This event is free but it’s BYOM—bring your own mat! 
  • Celebrate Pride Month with Our City, Your Orchestra! At 7 p.m., the Philadelphia Orchestra will be performing at the William Way LGBT Community Center. If you can’t make it to the concert, don’t worry: there’s a livestream too.

June 29

  • Do you want Philly to host the World Cup?! The city is campaigning for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be held in the City of Brotherly Love! Visit The Pitch at the Independence Visitor Center from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to learn more about this endeavor and play some soccer challenges. 
  • Head down to Drexel Square for a free barre class each Tuesday! Instructors from Tuck Barre & Yoga combine ballet, pilates, yoga and strength training in these classes. Barre at the Square starts at 5:30 p.m. Advanced registration is required; hurry and reserve your spot! 

June 30

  • MAAS Garden and Patio is collaborating with YAYA for their Pop-Up Dinner Series! Expect a three course meal consisting of delicious, local seasonal foods. This once in a lifetime dining experience begins at 7 p.m. Buy your ticket today!
  • Embrace your inner artist at Picture Me Philly! Local artist Jessica Cantone is hosting this free pastel drawing class. Learn all about the basics of landscape drawing and various pastel techniques. Also, you don’t need to worry about art supplies—everything is included

July 1

  • It’s our favorite day: Wawa Hoagie Day! Stop by Independence Hall from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. to snag a free hoagie and watch the Ambassadors Jazztet of the United States Army Field Band
  • Kick off July 4th Weekend with Red, White and Blueberry! From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Crossing Vineyards and Winery is hosting this patriotic wine tasting. The winery is located in Newtown, a 45-minute drive from the city.

July 2

  • You won’t want to miss the block party of the year, presented by Wawa Welcome America, the Barnes Foundation, and Mural Arts Philadelphia. There’s something for everyone at Our America Now & Barnes on the Block: food trucks and a beer garden, a BlackStar Film Festival screening, and live performances from local poets. 
  • Partake in the local art scene at First Friday West Philly! From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Indie-LIfe Creative Studio will be showing works from Susan Ragland, Pat Cummings, Eva Sturtz, and Nathan Grayson. Plus, there will be a happy hour and entertainment from DJ Rocdaspot!   

July 3

  • Be a part of a decades-long Philly tradition: POPS at the Mann. The Philly POPS orchestra is celebrating America with its annual concert. Doors open at 5 p.m. and at 7 p.m., POPS will begin playing an exciting mixture of patriotic standards and pop hits. This event is free but tickets are required! 
  • I hope you’re hungry! The Philly Food Truck Festival is being held at Riverview Plaza from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. This is the perfect family outing: there’ll be over 20 food trucks, live music, a raffle, carnival games and face painting. Plus, Philadelphia Union and their mascot (of course) will make an appearance! 

July 4

  • It wouldn’t be Independence Day without the Wawa Welcome America July 4th Concert. This year, Bebe Rexha, Flo Rida and Philly POPS will be performing! The concert will be taking place at the Mann Center from 7 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. Reserve your free ticket now! 
  • If your favorite part of the holiday is all the fireworks, then you need to experience the July 4th Fireworks Express! This train will lead you to the best view of Pottstown’s GoFourth! Fireworks Show. The Fireworks Express leaves Boyertown at 7 p.m. and you won’t want to miss it!
