Valentine’s Day: Philly Edition

valentines day

Philadelphia, or the “City of Love,” is known for cultivating and celebrating love. We’re also known for our fine eateries! Most holidays will be a little different than normal as we practice social distancing and the CDC guidelines. However, Philly restaurants are doing their best to help you and your loved ones celebrate the day of love, Valentine’s Day! With outdoor heated seating and limited capacity indoor dining, Valentine’s Day is still on! Philly PR Girl has a few options on where to dine-in or take out this weekend:

SET NoLibs: Northern Liberty

Set the weekend mood with Set NoLibs! Dinner for Valentine’s Day is so cliche, but since the special holiday falls on a Sunday this year, how about brunch? This restaurant, located in Northern Liberties, is an amazing brunch spot most famous for its mimosa towers. They also have tasty frozen drinks, signature cocktails, beer, and non-alcoholic lemonades. The outdoor seating has a fire pit in the center of the table and heaters so guests can enjoy outdoor dining even during winter!

Suraya Philly

Dine in or take out with Suraya! This restaurant, located in Fishtown, has flavors that’ll take you around the world! There are four menus (market, take out, garden dinner, garden brunch) consisting of ancient Levantine ingredients, flowery essences and heritage recipes. The beautiful outdoor oasis and lounge have a fire pit to keep you warm while you enjoy the scenery of the garden with your loved one. How romantic is that!?

Rouge

If you’re looking for a picturesque date night, this is the place for you! Rouge has set the tone for dining in Rittenhouse Square since it’s opening in 1998, but now you and your valentine can enjoy the outdoor dining and menu! It’s the ideal dinner date destination for its ambiance, food, and park-side dining. The Valentine’s Day menu has options like oysters, caviar, and lobster, with an impressive bar menu as well! The outdoor lounge is currently Ski Lodge themed and heated, which makes it perfect for picture taking.

SOUTH Jazz Kitchen

Yes, it’s Valentine’s Day, but it’s also going to be a very cold weekend! While restaurants are offering outdoor dining to compensate for the indoor seating capacity, for some of us it’s still too cold to even come outside. If you and your loved one are staying inside this weekend, SOUTH Jazz Kitchen is the perfect place to order takeout! This Black-owned soul food restaurant has the perfect Valentine’s Day menu because nothing says love like a romantic dinner at home!

These are only our picks for this weekend, but you can find all of our other Philly restaurant recommendations on our blog! According to NBC10, we can look forward to Philly indoor seating capacity increasing to 50% with new ventilation requirements coming soon! However, for now, limited seating capacity is still at 25%, so you can expect restaurants to be fully booked quickly. Try to book your reservations as soon as possible. Let’s also remember to practice safety this weekend. Happy Valentine’s Day!
