This Week In Philly

Monday, January 20

  • Happy MLK Day! Spend the holiday at the African American Museum watching reenactments and reading about the historic acts of Martin Luther King Jr. End the day with a visit from the Phillie Phanatic and a memorial concert. 
  • Philadelphia’s 19th Police District is hosting their Annual MLK Clothing Give-A-Way. Head over to donate or pick up new and gently-used apparel, shoes, toys, and household items.
  • Enjoy the final week of  Center City District Restaurant Week. Get 3+ course lunches and dinners at some of the most popular restaurants for a great price! 
  • YouTube Star Greyson Chance is performing his rescheduled tour date at The Foundry tonight. Bring a friend and spend your Monday right with good company and great music.

Tuesday, January 21

Thursday, January 23

  • Party with a purpose at Yards Brewing Company’ Social to Support Homeless Youth. Your ticket will include a 3 hour open bar and appetizers. Proceeds support Covenant House PA, the area’s largest service provider for homeless and runaway youth.

Friday, January 24

  • The Academy of Natural Sciences hosts another Dinos After Dark! Pay-what-you-wish to enjoy food and the new Dino Draft Beer. The event is family friendly and runs from 4 to 8 p.m. 
  • Enjoy butterbeer and wand lessons with Harry Potter himself at The Pop Shop’s Hogwarts Winter Fest! Wizard robes are encouraged but dress like a muggle if you must… Bring any book to donate and your name will be entered in a drawing for a special prize.
  • Attention women who love craft beer: Philadelphia Girls Pint Out is hosting their January social at Workhorse Brewing Company. Sample beer and connect with other women in the community who already share at least one passion with you!
  • Concerts for the night: Acclaimed DJ, deadmau5, brings his CUBE V3-2020 Tour to The Met Philly. Jam with Moon Hooch’s wild and free music at Ardmore Music Hall. Grace Potter performs her first album in over 4 years on the latest tour at The Fillmore. 

Saturday, January 25

  • It’s not winter in Philly without Radio 104.5 Winter Jawn! Head to Xfinity Live for this rain-or-shine event with some of your favorite alternative rock artists.
  • Embrace the cold at Founders Philly Freeze-Out in Manayunk. See Main Street transformed into a winter wonderland with a chowder crawl, ice carving demonstrations, beer samples, live entertainment, a Winter Market, a Warming Lodge, and more. 
  • Dress up in your finest formalwear for the 2nd Annual Masquerade on the Moshulu. With 3 levels of dancing, an open bar, and hors d’oeuvres, you’ll have a night to remember! 
  • Head upstairs at Khyber Pass Pub for Bushfire Benefit, a fundraiser to support the Australian wildfires. $20 donation at the door includes a welcome drink, Coopers ale specials, themed food, and live music. 100% of proceeds will benefit Adelaide Koala Rescue and The Kangaroo Island Mayoral Fund.
  • Head to the Wells Fargo Center to watch the Sixers and the Lakers go head to head. Get there by 8:30 p.m. to catch all the action.

Sunday, January 26

  • Head to the 2020 Lion Dance Parade to watch Lunar New Year festivities, filled with moments of good luck. The festivities begin at 11 a.m. 
  • The hilarious ventriloquist Jeff Dunham is performing at the Wells Fargo Center. Get your tickets to see this multi talented comedian (and his sidekicks) perform some of his best acts in his Seriously!? Tour. 
  • Dancing With the Stars Live brings the hit TV show straight to The Met! Watch the talent from America’s favorite professionals dance the night away.
