This Week In Philly

This Week In Philly, we have a montage of events for everyone to enjoy. Catch a movie, attend a fitness class, learn a new language, or show up for our Sixers. Philly is also throwing tons of Super Bowl LIV parties that we think you’ll love. Whatever you’re doing this weekend, be sure to tag us on social media to let us know what you’re up to!

Monday

  • The Athenaeum of Philadelphia is hosting a movie screening. The movie, A Room With A View, is based on the novel written by E. M. Forster. This 1985 movie was nominated for multiple Academy Awards along with many other awards. You can never go wrong with a good movie night. 
  • Learn Arabic through cooking at the Free Library of Philadelphia. The night will consist of meeting new people, learning a new language, and creating good eats. Tickets are $35 for this priceless experience. 
  • Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse is holding a Philly Influencer Mixer! Grab your cameras and attend this night to remember. A complimentary prosecco will be provided. Don’t forget to dress your best for this insta-worthy night! 

Tuesday

  • What better way to get your heart pumping than with a free workout? Join Optimal Sport in Dilworth Park for Center City Fit. Take your lunch break and join fitness professionals on the Rothman Orthopedic Ice Rink to get Center City Fit! 
  • Could we BE anymore excited?! Field House is hosting a Friends Trivia Night. Bring your bestie, or your lobster, and enjoy food and drink specials and a night full of Friends. 
  • Don’t miss out on all the action at the Wells Fargo Center as our 76ers take on the Golden State Warriors. The game starts at 7, so don’t be late! 

Wednesday

  • Hey, hun! How ya doin’? Head to the Ardmore Music Hall for an Aunt Mary Pat’s performance! With premium seating and meet & greets available, you’re sure to have a great time, hun!  
  • Head over to Milkboy to see a performance by the one and only Adrian Marcel. Bring a friend or two and watch Adrian perform his number one hit “2AM” along with many other top hits.   
  • It’s awards season! The PHL17 Viewers Choice Awards are being held at River’s Casino and you’re invited! The winners of the String Band and Fancy Brigade Mummer’s will be announced in addition to music, food, and a great time! 

Thursday

  • January is sex trafficking awareness month. To spread awareness, The College of Physicians of Philadelphia is hosting Pop-Up Public Health: Human Sex Trafficking. Learn why cities like Philadelphia are hotbeds of trafficking activity. Become aware and know the signs to help stop trafficking.  
  • The Art Gallery at City Hall is holding an event hosted by Office of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy. The event, Bethel Burying Ground: A Tribute To A Sacred Place Opening Reception, will feature different works of art that are all highlighting the significance of those buried at Bethel Burying Ground. 
  • Start your weekend a little early with a close and personal concert at NOTO. Roddy Rich is performing and you won’t want to miss it. Watch him perform hits from his album Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial. 

Friday

  • Shake it off! Bring your girls for a Ladies Only Dance Party. Enjoy a night of dancing in a safe space! Meet other local women, and dance the night away without feeling uncomfortable! Wear your party clothes or your workout clothes. Come as you are and do as you please at this empowering and free event at the Xfinity Center! 
  • Head to Twenty-Two Gallery tonight where Ashley King and Elliott Polinsky will host Winter Radiance: An Evening of Authentic Relating and Yoga Nidra. Participate in thoughtful meditation and connect with yourself on a deeper level.  
  • Check out the Pop-Up South Philly Art Show for a good cause! This event is being hosted by Love My Home Philly, which turns run-down Philly homes into beautiful homes so residents and newcomers alike will love their homes. 
  • Make your way to The Candle Studio and learn how to create your very own candle. From the size of the candle to the scent and color, the possibilities are endless for a unique creation that you’ll love. 
  • This Friday, Little Big Town is performing at The Met. Country music makes us think of summer, but this is a reminder that summer is getting closer! Watch LBT perform some of their biggest hits live at one of Philly’s favorite venues!  

Saturday

  • Check out the Mirage Lounge this weekend for their Good Times: Brunch and Day Party event. With plenty of music, free entry until 3 p.m., and bottomless mimosas all afternoon, you’ll be in for a good time!
  • Did someone say cake tasting? Count us in! Whipped Bakeshop is having a cake tasting and our mouths are watering already. Sample different cake flavors and learn how the cake and icing pairs are created! French press coffee is included! 
  • Start February off right at the picturesque Anthropologie Rittenhouse with Katie Wolfe from Tuck Barre Yoga. The 8:30 a.m. hour-long vinyasa flow will be followed by a 20% off discount alongside delicious treats from DiBruno Bros.

  • Sip and Shop this Saturday at The Pop Up Store. Browse everything that Philly vendors have to offer while you sip complimentary wine after 3 p.m.! 
  • Let’s go Flyers! Head to the Wells Fargo Center to watch the Flyers go head to head with the Avalanche. Face off starts at 7 p.m. so don’t be late! 

Sunday

  • Love City Brewing Company is hosting a Doggy Noses & Yoga Poses event. Adorable puppies from The New Jersey Misfits Canine Rescue will be playful and cuddly as you practice your yoga poses! Afterward, play with the pups and have a drink or two! Proceeds will benefit the NJMCR! 
  • Head to Old City for the monthly All That Jazz Festival. With live music, dancing, and free drinks, you’ll be sure to have a great time. Bring your family and friends to enjoy this quality festival! 
  • It’s National Tator Tot Day! Celebrate by heading to North Bowl to enjoy tater tots alongside food, drink, and bowling specials!
