Here’s whats going on this week…

Monday, July 22nd

  • BBQ at the Ballpark – For its sixth year, Rolling Barrel Events presents a special spread and beer list featuring Sweet Lucy’s Smokehouse, Victory, Slyfox, and Neshaminy Creek, before the game from 12 to 3 pm. $55 or $90 for all-you-can-eat, plus a seat at the game.
  • Lenka at World Cafe Live – In promotion of her third studio album, “Shadows”, this new mother performs her “[quiet] collection of emotionally-charged lullabies” at an all-ages show downstairs at WCL for $14.

Tuesday, July 23rd

  • Quizzo at the Pop-Up Garden – PHS’s Pop-Up Garden on South Broad Street welcomes DJ Quizzy Jeff to host a game of trivia on location at 6 pm. Philly PR Girl recently took a trip to the Pop-Up Garden – read all of the nice things we had to say about it!
  • Night Jazz Jam at Ortlieb’s Jazz Lounge – There’s no cover required for Ortlieb’s weekly (and 25 years old!) Jazz Jam, hosted by the bar’s owner.

Wednesday, July 24th

  • Soiree in the City – Take a load off after work and enjoy mini treatments, cocktails, desserts, and shopping from local, women-owned businesses at the Piazza’s Hip Philly Suite 79. $10 in advance and $15 at the door; check out which amazing local vendors will be there here!
  • Special Best of Philly Chocolate Tour – Celebrating 40 years of Philly Mag’s “Best of Philly” series, local promotions include a special “Best of” walking tour with Philadelphia Chocolate Tours, leaving at 12:45 pm.
  • Philadelphia Fashion Incubator Summer Sample Sale – The Philadelphia Fashion Incubator at Macy’s promotes up-and-coming designers from the area each year. Exclusive pricing for this year’s Designers-in-Residence will be offered from 4 to 8 pm at the Sofitel Hotel. Pay as you go for original clothing and accessories.
  • Mermaids of Alcatraz Tour – Train in concert with The Script and Gavin DeGraw, playing at the Susquehanna Bank Center at 7 pm.

Thursday, July 25th

  • Atlantic City Food and Wine Festival – Caesars Entertainment’s two-day festival brings over 20,000 hungry visitors to enjoy tasting events, culinary parties, classes and seminars, and the Grand Market, ongoing at Bally’s. Click here for the full schedule and ticket information.
  • The Mrs. Carter Show – Beyonce’s famous world tour comes to the Wells Fargo Center. Tickets range from $45-250.
  • Surf Show at Voltage Lounge – The Vintage Kicks play with The Surf Jerkz and Graveside Exhibit. $6 cover, 21+ show.
  • Screenings Under The Stars – Penn’s Landing’s weekly outdoor movie screening series continues through the end of August; this week’s movie is Disney Pixar’s Wreck-It Ralph.

Friday, July 26th

  • University City Dining Days – 29 restaurants in the University City area are offering prix fixe menus priced at $15, $25 and $35 from now through August 1st. See the list of participating restaurants here.
  • Red Bull Sound Select – A free show presenting performance feature artists Azealia Banks, Johnny Fhive, Mike Taylor and Khari Mateen at Voyeur Nightclub.
  • Three Nights of Comedy with Natasha Leggero – This “Chesela Lately” actress takes her stand-up routine to the Helium Comedy Club in Center City from the 25-27th. She has performed for Jay Leno, Carson Daly, Craig Ferguson, and past creds include judging NBC’s “Last Comic Standing”, hosted by Craig Robinson.
  • Wine Tasting for Singles – Enjoy wine, cheese, and music while mingling among new faces at Newton’s Crossing Vineyards and Winery. Tickets are $10.

Saturday, July 27th

  • XPoNential Music Festival – 88.5 WXPN’s annual music festival is happening at Wiggins Park in Camden, featuring a diverse roster of artists from Friday through Sunday. Headliners The Lumineers and Dr. Dog will be performing on Saturday; separate tickets are required for shows in conjunction with the festival at the Susquehanna Bank Center.
  • Intro to Kayaking Class – The Philadelphia Canoe Club takes a one-day trip, introducing participants to recreational whitewater kayaking. From 8 am to 4 pm; tickets are $100 for adults and $50 for kids 12-18 years old.
  • New Hope Poets Summer Festival – Live poetry readings by writers of all ages will be showcased at the New Hope Arts Center beginning at 7:30 pm. Admittance is free with a suggested donation of $5.
  • SmörgåsBeer’d at the American Swedish Historical Museum – From 5 to 8 pm, sample Swedish lagers, ales, stouts, and more, paired along Swedish savories like Swedish meatballs, cheeses, and sausages. Philly brews, including Yards, Dock Street, Triumph Brewery, and McKenzie Brew House will be included, alongside samples of Scandinavian beers.

Sunday, July 28th

  • East Passyunk Car Show and Street Festival – Now in its 8th year, East Passyunk’s Annual Car Show takes place from 5 to 8 pm. Admission is free to view over 140 cars, trucks, and motorcycles and see which winners take the trophies for Best Modified, Best Engine, Best 50’s Custom, Best of Show, and more. Plus, favorite restaurants will be serving eats for cheap outdoors, and live performances will be going on throughout the day.
  • Three Aksha at Painted Bride Arts Center – Philadelphia’s Three Aksha Dance Company works to preserve and promote traditional Indian dance and heritage through classical Bharatanatyam choreography. They will be performing two new works Saha and Aarambha on the 28th and 29th at 7 pm.
  • Eakins Oval: The New Shape of Fun – Eakins Oval has been transformed into this summer’s new “park on the Parkway”, hosting all types of daytime and evening programming now through August 18. Each day of the week brings a new theme, with Sundays being “family fun” day.
  • Americanarama Festival – Bob Dylan takes the Susquehanna Bank Center with Wilco and My Morning Jacket. Tickets range from $40 on the lawn to $410 in the pit.
