Preakness at the Piazza

When Philly PR Girl LLC was asked to promote and help with public relations for a brand new event called Preakness and the Piazza the decision was easy; we immediately decided to say yes.  Preakness at the Piazza helped raise money for the MS Society Greater Delaware Valley Chapter.  An estimated 2,500,000 people around the world are affected by Multiple Sclerosis.  As the first of this event, it was extremely successful, raising well over $100,000!

During the fundraiser, the 138th Running of the Preakness Stakes was broadcasted live on the Piazza’s 40-foot screen.  Throughout the night, guests mingled while enjoying food and drinks from sponsor Gunner’s Run.   Music and entertainment was provided by Philly’s own DJ Royal.  Though some folks were a little apprehensive to the weather, guests showed that a little rain never hurt nobody.  They continued to dance the night away in the rain! .

Certainly the highlight of the event was the fashion!  In the good ol’ spirit of the race, guests rocked amazing fascinators, cute bowties, and fabulous hats.  A lot of guests even made their own hats, and we are ALL about custom fashion.

Oxbow may have won the race, but there were a lot of winners at the Piazza.  Those that bet on him were entitled to bragging rights and knowing they helped a great cause.  The silent auction had some fantastic prizes that some guests were lucky enough to take home.  Everyone there came together to support such an important cause, and I’m so happy that Philly PR GIrl was a part of this phenomenal night!
