P!NK flies back into Philly!

I was hesitant to go to the P!nk concert at the Wells Fargo Center given it was the evening of St. Patrick’s Day, and it had been a long weekend.  Though, seeing as it was a sold out show, I knew I’d be in for quite the performance.  As fans awaited her stage debut, a Bill Murray look-alike entertained us with a some jokes (though not all were funny).  My favorite act was a fun skit about “the truth about love” because the cameras searched the audience for a contestant.  They zoomed in on a section in the 200 Level and there was P!nk in the middle of crowd!  People loved the surprise and from there, she flew over the crowd and around the stage with her signature Cirque du Soleil-esque performance.  That girl is inspirationally fit!  She was lifting some of her male dancers on her legs, and I stood in awe.

One of the best things about P!nk is that she seems extremely down-to-earth and relatable; she told stories and showed videos of dancing like no one was looking.  She even sang a few acoustic songs to show her singing strengths and a powerful voice that carried through the entire sold-out venue.  Of course, she didn’t forget to give shout outs to her hometown of Doylestown and accepted every bear, flower or rice krispee that flew on stage to her.  She even shook hands with people, autographed a few posters, and paused the show to break up a fight in the middle of one of her songs.

As she sang goodbye to the crowd, I was walked out of the stadium humming her songs and realized it was well past 11:15.  She hit the show on all cylinders and all that hype before it was accurate.  This groggy Sunday night turned out to be one of the best Sunday nights of my life.  We are so lucky she will be back in December.  I recommend you getting tickets as soon as they’re available!
