Summer Baecation in Philly

Spruce Street Harbor Park

Grab a spot on a hammock at Spruce Street Harbor Park for the perfect place to gaze at the stars above. Not only do they have intimate nooks for alone time with bae, Spruce Street Harbor also offers a complete carnival experience. Stroll on the boardwalk alongside the Delaware River to discover tasty food vendors selling classic cheesesteaks and summer treats like funnel cakes and ice cream cones. For the 21+ crowd, enjoy the outdoor floating bar right over the water. Open from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. all summer, it’s most romantic at night when the park is all lit up! It certainly makes for picturesque and unforgettable moments.

 

Blue Cross Riverrink Summerfest

If you’re looking for something more athletic and outdoorsy, hop right next door to Spruce Street Harbor to Blue Cross Riverrink Summerfest. Partake in an evening of roller skating with lively music as you make your way around the outdoor rink. Once you’ve had enough rounds, there is seating around the rink – as well as indoors – to catch your breath. Starting June 23, The Midway section will make its debut opening with even more amusement attractions. Hold onto bae on the carousel, 60-foot ferris wheel, swinging ship, or magic carpet ride rotating throughout the summer. Then get a little competitive or win your honey a big stuffed animal with games that include water races, basketball, balloon bust, and more.

Philadelphia Art Museum

Explore the nuances of art exhibitions, all while exploring your love for bae. The famous  museum administers over 240,000 objects throughout its beautiful and romantic annexes. This excursion is bound to take up most of your day as this building is one of the largest art museums in the world. The standard adult fee is $20, though look for “Pay As You Wish” specials on certain Sundays and Wednesdays. The museum always makes for great conversation, and the Rocky steps are ideal for an impromptu photoshoot!

Dinner & A Show

Take a stroll down the heart of the city on the Avenue of the Arts (locally better known as Broad Street). Philadelphia’s theatre district will make for a more-than-promising date night. Though the “dinner and a show” route is quite traditional, it’s still one of the most romantic types of evenings. Tap into your adventurous side and travel 57 stories above ground to encounter one of the most beautiful views in the city. The One Liberty Observation Deck provides romantic scenery that highlights Philly’s beautiful skyline and surrounding areas. Located in the heart of Center City, the attraction is open from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. daily so you can choose either sunlight or starlight!
