We LOVE our moms! With Mother’s Day vastly approaching, it’s only appropriate to celebrate this jubilant holiday by doing something special just for them. No matter her personality or preferences, every mom has the opportunity to enjoy something that Philly has to offer.
Considering all the different types of mothers there are out there, we’ve rounded up some of the best ideas in Philadelphia for a special Mother’s Day.

A lot of moms simply value great food, sparkling mimosas, and an opportunity to flaunt her finest fashions. For these ladies, a classic Mother’s Day brunch is how to fulfill her. Though the options of restaurants in Philadelphia are endless, only a few will provide a special experience. Here are options that will be providing specials in honor of celebrating mom:
- Barbuzzo: 3 course menu includes blueberry olive oil coffee cake, a smoked salmon tartine, and a fresh spring veggie salad, as well as a choice of one classic entree from french toast, steak and eggs, huevos rancheros, etc. plus dessert; $40 per person
- Moshulu: An elaborate brunch buffet features soups, salads, hot breakfast, raw bar, hot entrees, carving station, and over 10 decadent types of dessert; $55 for adults, $25 for kids 2-12
- Opa: In addition to the regular brunch menu, a prix-fixe option of lobster avocado omelet, a housemade pastry, and a mimosa is available; $25 per person
The Humourous Mom
Does your mom enjoy a good chuckle and a great knee slap? Taking her to Helium Comedy Club for a comedy contest on Sunday starting at 7:30 p.m. Together you can witness the crowning of the funniest comic in Philadelphia. The show is 21+ (or 18+ with parent). Tickets are available for pick up at the box office 1-2 hours prior to the show.
The Artsy Mom
Philadelphia is known for many things with art being the center of it all. If your mom values art in its rawest form, The Mural Arts Tour is perfect for her. The Tourist Mom
Whether your mom is visiting for the weekend or she’s an inquisitive Philly-area native, take her on the Constitutional Walking Tour for a day of exploring. The excursion includes scenery of historic landmarks including Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the Betsy Ross House, and more.
