Monday, May 8

  • Watch as finalists take the spotlight for a chance to stand on Lincoln Financial Field with the Philadelphia Eagles. Presented by SportsRadio 94WIP, the final cheerleader auditions at Merriam Theater will have 60 ladies compete to become members of the squad.

Tuesday, May 9

  • Tonight is South Street PHS Pop Up Garden Grand Opening party. The South Street location features a fresh festive menu, craft beers, speciality cocktails, games, and live music.
  • Celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in May as the Chinese Lantern Festival  at Franklin Square begins. The festival features one-of-a-kind Chinese lanterns, silk sculptures, acrobatics, and much more. The larger-than-life experience continues until June 11.

Wednesday, May 10

  • Blue Cross Riverrink Summerfest has returned for another season of fun! It’s officially time to hang up the ice skates and pull out your roller blades as the riverrink is transformed into a summer playground.
  • The Independent Business Alliance* (IBA) is celebrating its 10 years of growth and achievement in the Greater Philadelphia LGBTQ business community. Join in on an evening of awards, toasts, and entertainment.

Thursday, May 11

  • Do you love delicious food, Yards beer, lawn games, and live music? If so, come to City Tap House in University City to support the Broad Street Ministry at the 3nd Annual Porch Party.
  • The season’s first Night Market Philadelphia is back in the Northeast! Presented by The Food Trust, these street festivals offer a chance to bring communities together.
  • For a short time only, the Pennsylvania Ballet presents Re/Action at the Academy of Music. The show features a collection of dazzling dances from classic choreography by George Balanchine to a new world premiere from Matthew Neenan.

Friday, May 12

  • Calling all creative entrepreneurs, the third annual Fearless Conference has arrived. This special all-day event is an annual gathering for ambitious women. The celebration is guaranteed to turn your passions and ideas into impact and income.
  • Spruce Street Harbor Park, presented by Univest Bank, is back until October 1. The colorful hammocks, floating gardens and craft beers are sure to be highlight of your summer.
  • Expand your network by building relationships, collaborations, and support at the CultureWorks office on 13th and Walnut. They’re partnering with the National Network of Fiscal Sponsors, Fusion Partnership, and the Urban Affairs Coalition of Philadelphia for a night of mixing and mingling.
  • Philadelphia is hosting the largest collegiate regatta in North America this weekend. Dad Vail Regatta is a two-day competition with over 100 colleges and universities in attendance. Spend a day at the beautiful Fairmount Park and enjoy the races!
  • Saved Me Animal Rescue hosts a fundraising Poker Tournament at SugarHouse Casino to benefit the shelter’s animals. A cocktail reception featuring an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, and a silent auction will be held at the The Refinery, the casino’s waterfront restaurant.

Saturday, May 13

  • Get a team together for Row for Hope, an indoor rowing half marathon! Break a sweat, raise money, and increase awareness for brain cancer research.
  • The 14th annual Art Star Craft Bazaar will be hosted at Penn’s Landing this year. With more than 140 art and craft vendors you’re sure to find something special in time for Mother’s Day.
  • Philadelphia’s first ever Taco Festival takes place at SugarHouse Casino. More than 30 of the area’s best restaurants will serve up unlimited $3 tacos all afternoon. Also enjoy a tequila sampling expo and margarita beach bar with live entertainment during this fiesta.
  • South Philly’s Hawthornes Biercafé presents their 8th annual IPA, Champagne and Rosé Block Party on 11th Street. Choose from a selection of 75 beers, champagnes and roses. Plus, eat street food, play backyard games, and listen to live entertainment with the whole family (including furry members)! This free event is rain or shine; all drinks and food are cash-only pay-as-you-go.
  • Attention ladies, “Mr. Steal Your Girl” is in our city this weekend. Trey Songz presents Tremaine the Tour at the Electric Factory.

Sunday, May 14

  • Give back this Mother’s Day by joining the fight against breast cancer. The 27th annual Susan G. Komen Race for Cure Philadelphia takes place on the Art Museum steps. 75% of funds raised stay local to the Komen Philadelphia Community Grants program and other breast health initiatives.
  • Here is a tasty twist for your Mother’s Day celebration: try a Dumpling Making Party at Five-Spice Philly. The only thing you need to bring is an empty stomach and a container for your leftovers.
