Tuesday, December 27

  • If you love the greatest hits of ABBA and a charismatic love story, head to the Merriam Theater to see the return of Mamma Mia! This classic Broadway performance include favorites like “Dancing Queen,” “Take A Chance on Me” and “The Winner Takes It All.”
  • Visit the National Constitution Center for their Winter Break Week for your last chance to see our Headed to the White House exhibit before it closes at the end of the week! There will also be featured historical reenactments, photo ops, and games.

Wednesday, December 28

  • New York City’s acclaimed Halal Guys are coming to Philadelphia’s Chinatown. Be one of the first 500 customers at the Grand Opening party starting at 1 p.m. and receive prizes and free swag. There will also be live music, lion dancing, and fireworks to celebrate.
  • Looking for a new cultural experience? Come to the American Swedish Historical Museum in South Philly for a guided tour with Executive Director Tracey Beck. Thursday, December 29

  • Watch the 6th house illuminate on Boathouse Row as Mayor Kenney and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation light up on the 6th night of Hanukkah. MLK Drive will be closed between Eakins Oval and Sweet Briar Drive starting at 5:00 p.m. so attendees can walk to the gathering.
  • Manayunk’s Ugly Moose is closing its doors, but not before going out with a big bang! Make a toast at The Finale party to a great 15 years with an open bar and buffet with DJ entertainment all night long.

Friday, December 30

  • End 2016 in a zen state at Just Breathe, presented by the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Art After 5 series. The evening will feature sitar music in the great stair hall, peaceful yoga in the galleries, and mindfulness workshops.
  • Travel to Ardmore Music Hall for a rockin’ James Brown Dance Party. This tribute celebrates the 10 year anniversary of his passing. The lineup includes Clyde Stubblefield of James Brown’s band, Elise Testone from American Idol Season 11 and Adam Chase of The Chase Brothers.

Saturday, December 31

  • Spend New Years Eve in a unique musical experience with Dark Star Orchestra at the Electric Factory. Sing along as they bring back the best of Grateful Dead hits.
  • Celebrate 2017 at one of our favorite karaoke bars, Yakitori Boy!*  They have karaoke, live DJ entertainment, premium open bar, complimentary midnight champagne toast, and much more!

Sunday, January 1

  • Starting at 9 a.m., take part in one of the richest Philadelphia traditions, the Mummers Parade. Main performances will occur at City Hall, then the Mummers make their way down Broad Street to Washington Avenue.
  • Join the Kimmel Center for a New Years Day full of amazing FREE activities starting at 10 a.m. All different types of music will be featured alongside Garces’ hot chocolate lounge, mini makeovers by Macy’s, face painting, and so much more!
  • Cheer on the Philadelphia Eagles as they end the season against their ultimate rivals, the Dallas Cowboys, at Lincoln Financial Field. Can’t make it to the game? Watch at Monarch with an open bar and brunch buffet.
