Monday, December 28

  • Into checking out some new and upcoming rock bands? Well check out Crobot at the Electric Factory! This American hard rock band will rock your socks off! The fun begins at 7:30 p.m.
  • Stop on by the F.A.N. Gallery for the New Year’s Show of Gallery Artists! This exhibition opened earlier this month, but what better way to start off a new year than by checking out the latest artwork by some amazing artists? The exhibition is open until January 23.
  • Explore reptiles at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University during their All-Star days! This special four-day exhibit features something different every day, and today is Reptiles: The Beautiful and the Deadly Day! They have a whole list of events taking place with various times for activities, so check it out here!

Tuesday, December 29

  • Come on out to the Forrest Theater for a very colorful performance! Just what do we mean by colorful? Well, we mean the play Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat! This biblical story turned play tells the amazing tale of Joseph, his 11 brothers, and a very special coat. This is a musical every one in the family will love!
  • The Academy of Natural Sciences at Drexel University is featuring Furs, Feathers, and Scales Day! They will give you a first-hand glimpse of their living animals and how they take care of them day to day. This is a great way to get your kids excited about science and learn something new!

Wednesday, December 30

  • This is the last day for All-Star days at The Academy of Natural Sciences! This day is extra special and fun. It’s Weird-Things-In-A-Jar Day! Get an up-close look at how scientist jar things up and keep them for future research. Talk about cool!

Thursday, December 31

  • It’s New Year’s Eve, Philly! And what better way to ring in the new year then with some friends, family, and drinks! With so much going on, we have a special round-up of our top picks for NYE events around the city! Check it out!
  • The Dirty Heads are coming to Philadelphia and heading straight to the Piazza at Schmidt’s! This hip-hop/punk-rock band known for it’s melodic sound will help you end 2015 on a great “note.” Show starts at 7 p.m. Get your tickets now!

  • Happy New Year! It’s a fresh start and begin this new year right with some awesome events! Starting with The Mummers! This favorite Philly tradition full of music, costumes, and pageantry is a must see! If you are in the city, how can you not go?
  • Speaking of the Mummers, if you want to see the parade, but are looking to avoid the crowds, check out Garces’ New Year’s VIP Experience at The Kimmel Center! You can enjoy food and drinks with a Broad Street view of the Mummers on the Kimmel Center’s Tier Two Lounge! Check out their website for tickets.

Saturday, January 2

  • The Helium Comedy club presents Andrew Schultz! The native New Yorker is known for his edgy comedy and has been seen on MTV’s “Guy Code,” “The Hook Up,” and “Hip Hop Squares.” If you want a good laugh, make sure to get your tickets! The show has two times, 7:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.

  • With all of the political craziness in the air, why not have some fun with it?The Capitol Steps, a Washington, D.C.-based political comedy troupe, comes to the Kimmel Center to perform a musical and political comedy that mocks both sides of the spectrum, but would be sure to leave both sides still laughing. The show starts at 2 p.m.
