September’s Mission: Raising Ovarian Cancer Awareness

1 in 87 women will be given an ovarian cancer diagnosis in their lifetime. September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness month and the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation (SROCF) is dedicated to reducing that statistic by spreading awareness, funding research and educating people on what symptoms to look out for. The SROCF was founded by Robin Cohen after losing a patient to ovarian cancer. This ignited her passion to raise awareness for such a prevalent disease in women’s health. Along with raising funds to advance ovarian cancer research and bringing awareness to ovarian cancer, the non-proft works to create and provide a community for fighters and survivors of the disease.

Want to help raise awareness with us? Here are three ways you can join the movement today:

Donating

Donations are vital for furthering ovarian cancer research. Through donations, the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation is able to fund vital research to work towards a world without ovarian cancer.

Fundraising

Consider hosting or attending a fundraising event! Whether online or in-person, fundraising is a great way to get friends and family together to support a great cause. Not the hosting type? Look out for upcoming events on the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation website!

Educating

If there is one thing we can all do (for free too!) is to take some time this month to educate ourselves on the symptoms and prevention of ovarian cancer. September is also the perfect month to show support to those who are fighting or survived ovarian cancer by wearing teal!

This month, make sure to check out the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation’s Instagram and Facebook for event updates and resources.
