Weckerly’s

 Founded in 2012 right here in North Philadelphia, Weckerly’s is a small batch ice cream shop that serves hand-made and seasonal treats. They have two locations in Philly, one in Rittenhouse and one in Fishtown. While they do have some delicious and unique ice cream flavors, Weckerly’s is especially famous for their ice cream sandwiches, stacked between homemade, soft-baked cookies. Stop by one of their locations or find them at farmers’ markets around the city all summer long!

Franklin Fountain

If you’re looking for a simple and sweet treat, John’s is your place. A South Philly icon since 1945, John’s Water Ice is as classic as it gets. With over 65 years of experience, they have perfected the art of crafting the best water ice. It is made daily with fresh fruit, and it’s best paired with a salty pretzel in order to make the perfect summer combination. John’s is open seasonally from the spring through the early fall, and it’s the perfect simple but delicious treat on a hot day.
