Philly PR Girls’ Favorite Memories From 2023

Philly PR Girl has had a tremendous year with our clients and staff. With that being said, we wanted to share each of our favorite memories we’ve had in 2023 before we kickstart the new year next month. Check out our favorite moments below! 🫶✨

Favorite Memory:

2023 was all about our 10 year anniversary.  So of course I had to throw aq party! What a milestone and I was lucky enough to celebrate with our clients, media friends, the PPRG team (past and present) and all of the people that have really made a difference in the trajectory of this company.  With the help of brands that we admire and have worked with over the years, such as City Winery Philadelphia,  LAGOS and Tito’s Vodka, we threw one epic party in March. Snacktime entertained the guests as I tried not to cry during speeches from City Representative Sheila Hess, Victoria Lam (my first PPRG), and longtime friends, Brandon Szeker and Natalie Egenoff. My friend, Chill Moody even surprised me with a performance with Snacktime.  As we are now entering our 11th year in business I look forward to new adventures, because as my team knows there is no typical day in PR!

XOXO,

Kate

Favorite Memory:

I’ve loved every minute of my time working with the amazing clients I share with Philly PR Girl. It’s so difficult to pick just one moment. So I’m going to focus on two special times.

It was 6a at the golf course at Huntingdon Valley Country Club which was the site of the 10th Annual Darren Daulton Foundation Golf Outing. We were all at the course setting up. Teamwork at its finest. To see an event of that size come together after months of planning on a beautiful, crisp Fall day and to greet the Phillies Alumni, sponsors and supporters as the sun came up was amazing. At registration, I got to meet a woman who told me that DDF Board Member Dr. Kevin Judy had saved her life. I took a photo of the two of them hugging. That’s why we do what we do.

Working on the Women in Sports Summit for The Philadelphia Youth Sports Collaborative was also among the most rewarding. Working with the incredible women who were panelists and moderators was one of my favorite things. Each woman shared their journey and their career path and had everyone who attended feeling so inspired. To help Beth Devine make her vision and dream into a reality was truly amazing. The final panel including Beth Mowins, Amy Fadool and Taryn Hatcher came off the stage and I started to cry tears of joy taking their photo. It was a perfect day after months of meetings and planning.

I’m grateful and inspired by every project I have tackled this year with PPRG. Cheers to many more in 2024! xo

Favorite Memory:

Instead of choosing a favorite moment, I chose my favorite feeling. That feeling is the hope the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation evokes. For those who don’t know, the SROCF was created after Sandy passed away from advanced ovarian cancer in May 2000 by her sister, Adriana Way, and her nurse, Robin Cohen. They wanted to keep Sandy’s memory alive while trying to prevent other women from having to endure the same pain as she did. Over the past 23 years, the foundation has raised over $6 million in research grants and has educated millions about ovarian cancer.

Throughout this year, I took part in three of their Sandy Sprint 5K fundraisers in Philadelphia, Sea Isle City, and Los Angeles. The environment and feeling you get at these events are hard to put into words. It’s heartbreaking to hear the stories of women who are no longer with us, but it is also inspiring to see the progress that has been made.

That hope was also felt when The Drew Barrymore Show had Robin on the show. It gave the foundation a national platform to share their mission but, most importantly, spread awareness to thousands of women about what symptoms they should be looking out for.

Favorite Memory:

My favorite Philly PR Girl moment from 2023 is a moment that I felt my time at the firm really came full circle. This year’s SELF(ISH)philly conference marked almost one full year since I started at Philly PR Girl. One of my first clients was Danielle Massi and when I met her, she had just hosted her third annual SELF(ISH)philly conference a few days before. Immediately when she started telling me about the conference, I could tell how passionate she was about the event and about helping women in her community better their health.

One whole year later, it was time for the fourth annual SELF(ISH)philly conference. I was so excited to attend the event for the first time and to watch all of Danielle’s hard work pay off. I could not have anticipated how incredible it would feel to watch her greet her attendees on the main stage and tell her story. It was so rewarding to help Danielle turn her dream into a reality.

Being a part of the PR team for Le Dîner en Blanc Philadelphia was such an amazing opportunity, and I was honored to have contributed to such a special Philadelphia tradition. It was a pleasure working with the entire DEB PHL team, whose dedication and passion for creating an unforgettable event were truly inspiring. Working alongside a group of talented and creative influencers in the Philadelphia community was another aspect of this event that made this opportunity memorable. It was uplifting to see influencers of various artistic styles, and niches come together to celebrate the magic that is Le Dîner en Blanc Philadelphia.

These efforts and Philly PR Girl’s work generated over 100+ press coverage for the event. This accomplishment showcased the interest and excitement surrounding Le Dîner en Blanc Philadelphia and highlighted how dedicated and passionate we all are about this special event. As the night continued on in an atmosphere of brotherly love, it was clear that our dedication had played an important role in creating a lasting memory for all those who attended. I cannot thank my amazing co-workers enough for their help and support leading up to and during the event, and I cannot wait for next year’s Le Dîner en Blanc Philadelphia!

Favorite Memory:

When both of your parents are South Philly natives, you tend to consider yourself a city kid. I have countless memories from when my parents would always take my brother and I down to South Street to walk through the Headhouse Shambles during the holidays or for Lorenzo’s famous pizza. Discovering that the South Street Headhouse District would become one of my social media clients was something that continues to excite me every day.

Connecting with their team felt effortless, and attending various events, such as their annual South Street Fest and new Night Market Series that they hosted this summer has been truly rewarding. Beyond creating meaningful relationships, witnessing the South Street Headhouse District evolve and continue to grow into an iconic area in Philadelphia, along with managing their social media accounts continues to be an absolute joy for me every day!

PMA Craftshow Weekend (Preview Party Gala & Show)

Fine art, fashion, stunning displays, and all the above! My favorite moment is more of an experience. My favorite experience of 2023 was the PMA Contemporary Craft Show Preview Party and Show. This cocktail gala took place on November 2nd and allowed guests to dress up for a first look at the artwork while sipping on wine and enjoying light bites. The show itself was a weekend-long event that occurred November 3rd-5th and featured over 195 artists from across the country.

After working on this account for over 8 months, seeing it all come to life was wonderful. Working alongside Nancy O’Meara, show manager, has been great and I enjoyed all of our discussions leading up to the show. As the social media coordinator, I got the chance to design multiple pieces of content and also connect with the artists themselves to promote the show.

Overall, it was such an amazing experience getting to attend this gala and show while also being Lead Social and capturing the weekend. Reflecting on this incredible experience, I’m looking forward to the 2024 Preview Party and Show.

Favorite Memory:

As the newest add to the team, I don’t have AS many experiences to share but my favorite 2023 moment for me with PPRG was walking into meeting with Kate to discuss potential work opportunities as an in house photographer. The initial meeting with Kate took some time and after much anticipation, I remember thinking “here’s the office! I’m finally here.” The events I have been able to work so far were the Turkey Tailgate, and BBBS touchdown event. One thing I love so much about PPRG is just how “Philly” it is. As someone who isn’t from Philly but has been here my entire adult life, these two experiences alone deepened my love for the city. I am truly looking forward to 2024 with PPRG!

Philly PR Girl is so excited for the New Year, and we can’t wait to work with our amazing clients on 2024 plans! Feel free to follow us on Instagram to stay up-to-date on future events and more. Cheers!Â
