Dope Shows co-founders, Stephen Piner and Jamir Shaw, are dedicated to giving back to the city that raised them and show no signs of slowing down! On Sunday, August 29, 2021, Philadelphia’s own Dope Shows is partnering with local youth founded, nonprofit organization Dimplez 4 Dayz Inc. to host their third annual BACK 2 SCHOOL Book Bag Extravaganza. Dope Shows and Dimplez 4 Dayz plan on giving away one thousand book bags to local students to help prepare them for the upcoming school year. It’s important to Dope Shows to provide the necessary resources to uplift and guide Philadelphia’s youth to a bright future.
Piner and Shaw shared, “Even with all the shows we’ve had, our community book bag giveback is always one of the top memories each year. Every year it gets bigger and better.”

Bigger and better sounds about right, as Dope Shows is more than DOUBLING the amount of book bags given away at their 2019 Book Bag Extravaganza. In each book bag, students can find an abundance of school supplies such as books, pens, pencils and folders. And if they’re lucky, they may even find concert tickets to Made in America, Earn Your Leisure Live Podcast: Meet the Founders, or Dope Shows upcoming Polo G concert!
Kicking off at 1:00 p.m. at The Fillmore Philadelphia, this event is free and open to the public. Live entertainment from local artists, YXNG KA & DJ AyeBoogie will make this event energetic and fun for all. Guests can also expect complimentary food and refreshments sponsored by Domino’s Pizza.
Piner and Shaw are committed to bringing about positive change for the future of Philly’s youth. Although they are known for creating unique entertainment experiences for the Hip-hop community, Dope Shows is much more than that. It is a bridge that connects them with the community and I can’t wait to see what else they have in store!
