How Philly PR Girl Stays Healthy

How PPRG Stays Healthy

While events are in full swing, it’s important to remember to keep yourself healthy and rejuvenated! Here are some of the PPRG team’s favorite ways to stay healthy:

Strength training

  • “I love doing strength training, whether at the gym or doing an at-home workout, I mostly enjoy strength training because I have seen the most change in my body doing it! I throw in some cardio on the treadmill throughout the week as well. A fitness guru I shape a lot of my workouts after is Whitney Simmons,” –Jada, Public Relations Assistant

Walking

  • “Whether I am working from home, in the city, or during a weekend—doing something where I am moving my body helps me stay physically and mentally fit. Walks, runs, HIIT workouts—they all do the trick,” –Bailey, Event Planning Assistant
  • “I walk to and from work every day. I also love going to the Italian Market and buying fresh food and produce.” –Katerina, Public Relations Coordinator
  • “When the weather’s nice and I have some free time, I love going on a nice long walk. It’s a great way to explore the city, you never know what you’re going to stumble upon,” –Milly, Marketing Assistant

Rowing and cycling*

  • “During the pandemic I bought a rowing machine. So I’ve been rowing but now that BFit4Life is open I’m all about immersive cycling,” –Kate, Owner

Healthy eating

  • “I love making my own açaí bowls! I use the Trader Joe’s unsweetened açaí purée, frozen raspberries and a banana for the base, then top with granola! If I can’t hit the gym I’ll try to hula hoop to stay active but I also love to go on walks,”  –Julie, Digital Marketing Assistant
  • “I’m a big fan of Trader Joe’s! Their frozen foods are perfect quick meals—I like to buy ones that are jam-packed with vegetables, like the cauliflower pizza crust and kale gnocchi. It feels indulgent but really I’m getting an extra serving of vegetables,” –Milly, Marketing Assistant
  • “I start my day with a ginger shot that I make of honey, raw ginger, and water. The taste is weird at first but easy to get used to,” –Bailey, Event Planning Assistant

While maintaining your physical health, it’s also good to remember that your emotional and mental health is important too!

Yoga and mindfulness

  • “I do yoga! I also started eating healthier food options by keeping track of my proteins, carbs and fats. To stay emotionally healthy also, I’ve just been understanding of myself and my own emotions and allowing myself to feel them too. Mental health is important too,” –Andrianna, Digital Marketing Coordinator
  • “I stay healthy by practicing yoga every morning to get moving early and set my intentions for the day! I also track my water intake to ensure I stay hydrated and keep my mind clear,” –Dominique, Social Media Assistant
