Prepare for a week full of fun and exciting events! We can’t even wrap our heads around how many activities are going on in the city this week (a French disco and TWO festivals, just to name a few)!

June 7

  • Morgan’s Pier is hosting a Yappy Hour! From noon to 8 p.m., all dogs are welcome to their beer garden at Penn’s Landing. Morgan’s Pier and PSPCA are teaming up on the first Monday of each month for this pawtastic event
  • Put on your dancing shoes! For one night and one night only, Forsythia is holding a socially distant French disco! French AF will last from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Make your reservation now!

June 8

  • This week is the Odunde Festival a.k.a. The largest African American street festival in the country! On Tuesday morning, join CEO Oshunbumi Fernandez-West for breakfast at the Breakfast Boutique in Germantown
  • If you’re feeling creative, then head down to the Venice Island Performing Arts & Recreation Center in Manayunk! At 7 p.m., they are hosting their first in-person Creatives’ Pier event! 10 musicians, all from different genres, will sign up and perform.  The event is outside, rain or shine, and tickets are $15 at the door.

June 9

  • Celebrate World Ocean Day with Partners for the Planet! In this online event, experts from Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University, the Philadelphia Zoo and the Adventure Aquarium will discuss how we can make the earth greener! Partners for the Planet will be live on Facebook from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • The Stephane Wrembel Trio is performing at The Francis Cope House as a part of the Awbury Community Concert Series! You may recognize some of their songs from the soundtracks of Vicki Cristina Barcelona, Midnight in Paris and Rifkin’s Festival! Tickets are available online.

June 10

  • Feel like you’re in a movie at Candlelight Jazz: Songs from Magical Movie Soundtracks! Head up to the 33rd floor of Loews Hotel for this elegant concert. Tickets are available for either 7 p.m. or 9:30 p.m.
  • We’ve got the perfect mid-week date night for you! Chef Carmelo is hosting an interactive hand-rolled gnocchi class for up to four people (double date, perhaps?). Learn how to make ricotta gnocchi, creamy basil sauce and a simple salad.  Register now!

June 11

  • To celebrate the end of the Philadelphia Flower Show, there will be a flower pop-up in Dilworth Park! From Friday to Sunday, The Garden will be filled with flower decor, live music and entertainment that is perfect for the entire family! 
  • This month, the Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy is hosting an outdoor indie movie screening series: cinéSPEAK Under the Stars @ Clark Park! This week will be the Philadelphia premiere of Sisters with Transistors. Plus, there will be a talk afterward with director Lisa Rovner! 

June 12

  • Celebrate Pride Month at Pride Fest*! From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., there will be tons of live entertainment, local vendors and food trucks! The festival is taking place at the SoHa Arts Building in Haddon Township. RSVP ASAP! 
  • Support local small businesses and start-ups at the Opportunity for Entrepreneurs Market! From 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Cherry Street Pier, there will be over 12 vendors! Plus, after shopping, you can stroll along the Delaware River Waterfront!

June 13

  • Spend your Sunday at the Afro-Caribbean Wine Food & Music Festival! Enjoy live reggae music, a wine tasting and some arts and crafts at the Belmont Mansion. The festival will last all day, from noon to 7 p.m.
  • You won’t want to miss the Yankees and Phillies game this Sunday! The baseball teams are playing at Citizens Bank Park, which is now open at reduced capacity. Grab your tickets before they sell out!
