Walking into Philly Power Yoga & Thrive Pilates (PPYThrive), it feels more like walking into a homey sanctuary than an intense fitness studio. The converted space has kept charming original features, such as the fireplace and mantle. Recently, our team stopped by to take Ella’s Greatest Hits: Best of Pilates, Barre & Yoga class.
Aside from a killer soothing playlist, Ella’s class was a blended flow of all three exercises that was clearly very well thought out. During the hour, each move was powered by breath-inspired cues and clear direction. Power Yoga
In a heated studio, these classes offer the opportunity to slow down, deepen your breath, and stretch to restore both mind and body. Power yoga increases strength and endurance while improving balance and flexibility. Instructors focus on breath and encourage students to move at their own pace and intention. Class times range from 60 to 90 minutes long. Don’t forget to bring a yoga mat and plenty of water!
Thrive Pilates
Get your body moving and blood flowing in one of PPYThrive’s Pilates, Barre, and TRX classes. Thrive Pilates puts a focus on muscle groups in the arms, shoulders, back, and abdominals. They’re aimed to help the body tone and strengthen. From beginner classes to open level classes, there are modifications that can be applied to the majority of exercises. Expect to walk in feeling grounded and leave feeling empowered, motivated, and wanting more!
World-Class Instructors
Celebrating its tenth year this summer, PPYThrive provides a warm and welcoming environment where guests can feel comfortable moving their bodies. All instructors have earned at least 450 hours of training. Every teacher’s objective is to understand the body and the best methods for an individual to build strength, flexibility and balance in a sustainable way.
