Don’t want to drive to the shore this weekend? Celebrate the unofficial start of summer during Memorial Day weekend here in Philadelphia! A week filled with Art, Music, Guac, and so much more… you’re not gonna want to leave the city for this.

 


Monday, May 20
  • For the Linguistics of Love! Head to the Fishtown Wellness Center from 6-8pm to improve your expression of connection and appreciation in relationships. This event will include discussions of Gary Chapman’s work of the five love languages and many more self-love help tips.
  • Join Kristen DeWitt for an early hour of late-night talk-show fun, games, reviews, and sketch bits as she takes on the late-night format. Kristen even gets up close and personal with some of your favorite comedians and quite possibly gets the audience involved.
Tuesday, May 21
  • It’s Photo Pop Philly’s opening week! Stop by The Bourse in Old City to take your perfect summer Instagram shot… oh & don’t forget to tag them if you want to be featured on their Instagram story.
  • Let’s celebrate a new chapter for our city together while tuning into the Philadelphia Election Results, and gather strength for 2020 — together. Election Night Party in Philly… Fun. Friends. Democracy!
  • Woofstock is back for the summer! Join us every Tuesday night at Seger Dog Park for live music, refreshments, and great company. Let your canine friends run free in the off-leash dog run while you enjoy a free performance by local artists.
Wednesday, May 22
  • Stop by Tattooed Mom’s and check out the You Can’t Fail art exhibit. An evening of new works including visual art, photography, theater, dance, performance art, comedy, story-telling, poetry, ballet, film, and so much more!
  • A Celebration of Philadelphia Art is happening at the Curator Fest this Wednesday. Highlighting some of the most unique artist and brands from around the city. Check it out anytime from 8-1am.
Thursday, May 23
  • Kick off summer at MANNA’s Guac Off Philadelphia! Taste and sample fresh guacamole crafted by Philadelphia’s best restaurants – once again hosted by Morgan’s Pier.  All proceeds from the event benefit MANNA’s mission to prepare and deliver meals to individuals battling life-threatening illnesses. There will be guac, rain or shine!
  • Whether your organization is big or small, at some point you’ll likely need someone, somewhere to invest in your idea or works. Sit in on How To Ask For Money Without Shame workshop with YOUR team. And don’t forget, the bigger the team, the more effective the session will be.
Friday, May 24
  • Hello Memorial Day Weekend and hello Billy Joel! Get your tickets and join us at the Citizens Bank Park at 8 pm for a kickoff like no other.
  • Join Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens (PMG) for their Twilight in the Gardens series! On these special evenings experience PMG after hours with a live musical performance, guided art workshop, and casual mini-tours. Guests are encouraged to BYOBBS (Bring Your Own Booze, Blanket, and Snacks) to get comfortable and picnic in the dreamlike labyrinth.
Saturday, May 25
  • This Saturday, children ages 3+ can transform into their favorite mythical creatures at OCNJ Bowfish Studios. Reserve your spot to be the first to transform into a fairy with hair, makeup, glitter, and fairy wings. An in-studio photoshoot is also included in the package of your choice!
  • Winter is coming to Philly! Soon we’ll all drink and know things during The Crawl of Thrones. Choose your house and pay the iron price in trivia for honorable prizes. The night is dark and full of terrors, but the wine and ale washes them all away!

Monday, May 27
  • Honor the fallen at this annual Memorial Day parade. A service is held at the Veterans Memorial in Kerr Park to conclude the festivities.
  • How said history has to be boring? Introducing the Hamilton Exhibit: The Constitutional Clashes That Shaped a Nation. This new exhibit highlight explores Hamilton’s fraught relationships with James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and Aaron Burr.
