They say April showers bring May flowers, and we’re finally excited to see them this week. Get fresh air with outdoor fitness classes, festivals, and baseball games! End the weekend with festive Cinco de Mayo parties across the city.

Monday April 29
  • Head to Dilworth Park for free Zumba classes on Monday evenings from 6-7pm. Expert instructor Dwayne Townsend from  Optimal Sport 1315* will lead these fitness sessions.
  • Airplane! Is showing at the Trocadero for Movie Monday. Tickets are only $3 and can be put towards food and drinks.
  • Grab a partner and come to Craft Hall from 4 pm – 8pm for a chance to win one of Frontier Airlines’ 500 free flight giveaways.  
Tuesday April 30
  • Fitness is easier when it’s free! Get into shape with a boot camp class every Tuesday evening from 6-7 pm, led by professional trainer Guy Nanni, Fitness Coach from Optimal Sport 1315.*
  • Bring your ones for the fan-favorite dollar dog night! Cheer on the Phillies as they play the Detroit Tigers at 7:05pm.
Wednesday May 1
  • The spectacular Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival is back at Franklin Square nightly through June 30. Don’t miss 29 new culturally-inspired lantern sculptures, performances and handcrafted keepsakes by Chinese folk artists, the Dragon Beer Garden, and much more.
  • Tria Cafe Rittenhouse is celebrate their 15th birthday. Have a toast with rare wines from the 2004 vintage, along with 15-year-old aged cheese.
  • Cheer on the Phillies as they play the Tigers at 7:05pm at Citizens Bank Park.
Thursday May 2
  • Science in the National Park brings The Franklin Institute’s wonder to Independence National Historical Park. This experience is geared to a fourth and fifth-grade audience to explore the connection between history and science.
  • Winter is coming to Brickwall Tavern! Test out your knowledge of the epic series, Game of Thrones at Trivia Night.
  • Sip while you draw at the Philadelphia Museum of Art for Drink & Draw. Meet with local artists at this 21+ event. All materials are provided and all materials are provided!
Friday May 3
  • Taste more than 500 samplings of premium rated reds, whites and bubbly at Philadelphia Magazine’s Wine Festival. Plus, enjoy cuisine from more than 20 of Philadelphia’s most popular restaurants
  • Grab your girlfriends and come to Chestnut Hill on Girls Night Out First Friday from 5pm until 8pm. Sip, shop, and have fun at participating stores like one of our favorites, Ellelauri. Then, stay for the after party at Tailored Home with a special raffle drawing.
  • Laugh all night with Daily Show host, Trevor Noah, at The Met Philly. After the success of his best-selling memoir, Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood, this is his first national stand-up comedy tour.

Saturday May 4
  • Soak up the sun on South Street at the annual South Street Spring Festival. This free, all day, all-ages celebration will provide some  of the city’s best sights, sounds, tastes and sip.
  • Bold Women and Beer at Love City Brewing is Philadelphia’s first women-centered beer festival! Come have a great time while supporting 30+ breweries with women leadership, food trucks, and live entertainment!
  • Celebrate Cinco de Mayo all weekend starting at Fox and Hound for Barcrawl.com’s Cinco De Mayo Bar Crawl. Enjoy drink specials and free admission to participating bars.
  • Join The Victoria Freehouse for their Rosé Wine Tasting Brunch. Enjoy a delicious brunch served family style and a tasting of rosés from around the world.  
  • End the Philadelphia Science Festival at the Science Carnival on the Parkway. From 10am – 4pm, enjoy dynamic demonstrations, engaging experiments, geeky games, and electrifying entertainment for the entire family.
Sunday May 5
  • On the first Sunday of every month The Philadelphia Museum of Art admission hosts a Pay What You Wish Family Festival. This free event showcases local and nationally recognized performance groups, these festivals provide an experience that combines the magic of the visual and performing arts.
  • Celebrate with El Rey at their 5th Annual Cinco de Mayo Block Party. Aside from drink specials, you can expect a live mariachi and DJ sets, delicious street food, and games for all ages.
  • Moshulu is hosting a Taco + Tequila Deck Party. Get unlimited cocktails including Margaritas, as well as Coronas and well drinks. and make your own tacos from 4-6pm.
