From athletes, active adults and the general public, this place is great for anyone looking to enhance their wellness. Located on 17th and Sansom Street, the Philly PR Girl team had a chance to experience a variety of CRYO Philadelphia services together! Learn more about Cryo’s services, the wellness benefits, and our experiences below.

Cryotherapy

Known best for its cold air therapy, cryotherapy is a form of holistic healing that improves blood circulation, triggers endorphins, and eliminates toxins. To get started, guests strip down to enter a “cryochamber” which is lock-free and cooled by liquid nitrogen with sub-zero temperatures ranging from -200 F to -250͖ F. To prevent frostbite, guests are provided socks, slippers, and gloves. We personally recommend bringing your own hat for some extra warmth! Treatments range from 1.5 to 3 minutes in the chamber, with the ability to hop out at any time. Some Philly PR Girl team members lasted the full treatment like Dominique and Sarah, while others got out and into a robe at the 2-minute mark!

Guests often feel immediate benefits after their first treatment, such as deeper sleep and reduced pain and inflammation. Though, research supports a minimum of 10 cryotherapy sessions in close succession for improved and cumulative benefits. View the full list of cryotherapy health and wellness benefits here.

Compression Therapy

For individuals experiencing inflammation, soreness, and muscle pain, NormaTec Recovery System helps speed the body’s recovery process. Through three different types of compression sleeves, this service gets the blood circulating in areas including arms/shoulders, lower back/hip area, and legs. Sessions run between 15-30 minutes. You’ll feel so relaxed, you might even fall asleep like Philly PR Girl, Nicole below!

Celluma LED Therapy

LED Therapy is a lightweight FDA-approved light energy device that treats a variety of skin conditions. Celluma light therapy is safe, with no abrasive chemicals, and is scientifically proven to relieve joint pain and stiffness. Additional benefits include clearing up blemishes, preventing future breakouts, and assisting in anti-aging in a natural, non-invasive and non-toxic manner. For best results, guests should receive this treatment three times per week for four weeks.

Infrared Sauna

Compared to a traditional sauna, an infrared sauna uses infrared lamps so guests can enjoy the benefits of a traditional sauna without the extreme heat. Directly penetrating your skin and not the air around you, this infrared sauna is more tolerable for those who struggle with high heat temperatures. Health benefits include detoxification, pain relief, weight loss, skin purification, and more. CRYO offers a Fire and Ice treatment in the sauna then cryochamber, which Amanda had the pleasure of trying.
