There is A LOT happening #ThisWeekInPhilly. Highlights include entertaining Kimmel Center performances, inspiration at the Philly Home Show, and the annual Philadelphia Women’s March. Don’t miss out on all that our amazing city has to offer.

Monday, January 14

  • Cheer on the Philadelphia Flyers as they take on the Minnesota Wild at the Wells Fargo Center at 7pm.
  • Relax and enjoy authentic winter beverages, snacks and prizes as you learn a full range of the surprising histories of Yule, and Viking lore and Saturnalia at Grim Philly Twilight Tours Christmas Taverns.
  • Stop by Fishtown Community Library once a month for Ree & Kei’s Pop-up Cooking Class. Improve your knife skills, learn basic cooking and baking principles, and educate yourself on food safety.
  • The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts is excited to announce Swing @ the Kimmel. This interactive and free virtual reality swing installation will bring together childhood memories with the latest technology.  

Tuesday, January 15

  • Learn how to make your own Pizzeria Vetri pizza at the late night “Pizza After Dark” Pizza Class. Ticket price includes two pizzas + toppings, a carafe of wine or pitcher of beer, dessert, instruction, and service.
  • Join Morris Animal Refuge at Urban Village Brewing Company for a night of painting for Pawcasso Art Night. Tickets are $25 and all proceeds benefit Morris Animal Refuge.
  • Don’t miss New York rapper A$AP Rocky perform at Temple University’s Liacouras Center on his Injured Generation Tour.
  • Network at the Pyramid Club as they host Cocktails and Conversation. This event supports No Dog Gets Left Behind, a Philadelphia-based all-volunteer non-profit that helps reunite combat veterans and the dogs that they adopted while stationed overseas.
  • Philly DevOps Monthly Meetup will be held at the Comcast Center at 6:30 pm. This group believes in bridging the gap between development and operations.

Wednesday, January 16

  • Cheer on the Philadelphia Flyers as they take on the Boston Bruins at the Wells Fargo Center at 7:30pm.
  • Every Wednesday night, take advantage of $2 bowling, $2 beer, $2 shoes, $2 tots. This week, DJ Grandpa Jeremy is spinning at $2 Wednesdays at North Bowl.
  • One Book, One Philadelphia Kickoff Event kicks off with a reading and conversation between Jesmyn Ward, author of the One Book featured selection Sing, Unburied, Sing, and WURD President/CEO Sara Lomax-Reese.  
  • Glow-Art and Second Saturday Art Gallery host RAW, Reflect. The artist uses specialty makeup, lighting, and editing techniques to create an photographic experience like no other.

Thursday, January 17

  • Every Thursday until February 21, it’s College Nights at Dilworth Park. Students with a valid school ID pay only $2 admission to the Rothman Orthopaedic Institute Rink.
  • Kick off the semester at Blue Throne Entertainment’s Philly’s Official Back to School PARTY at Concourse Dance Bar. The party is 18 to enter, 21 to get access to the exclusive bar and lounge.
  • Spend an evening meeting and pitching to early-stage Angel Investors and Venture Capitalists at FundingPost Philadelphia VC and Angel Investor Roundtable.   • The official Pennsylvania Women’s March chapter host the Philadelphia Women’s March. The mission of Women’s March is to harness the political power of diverse women and their communities to create transformative social change.
  • Attend the collaborative event series, Netwerk to Networth, developed by The PR Girl Manifesto and Personally Rachel Group. Its inaugural nationwide tour starts with a full day of girl power at Seer Interactive. The panel features prominent female entrepreneurs focusing on branding, sponsorship, collaboration, and more.
