In the first weekend, Matt Blashaw of HGTV’s Yard Crashers and Vacation House for Free; Ellen’s Design Challenge; and more takes the stage. During the second weekend, hear from Clint Harp of the HGTV favorite, Fixer Upper, and DIY Network’s Wood Work.

If you haven’t heard of the new Netflix series, Tidying Up with Marie Kondo, it’s taking homes (and social media) by storm. Turn your inspiration into action with multiple presenters on storage and organization on stage at the Philly Home Show. Choose from Organizing Your Life 101 with Janet M. Taylor of Totally Organized LLC, Ask The Organizer panel, or How to Create a Home that Sparks Joy with Amanda Jefferson.

Show Features

Brand new to 2019 is the Concrete Backyard, a partnership between Elite Landscaping and local designers. If you’re feeling uninspired with your outdoor space due to city “limitations,” think again. These sample backyards showcase the latest trends in concrete and stone work, vertical gardens, outdoor furniture, and more. Soon, you’ll have your own urban oasis!

Speaking of city spaces… Are you also struggling for ideas with interiors? Local design expert Tommi Mischell, of K Gallery Art & Design in Old City, is here to help with Small Space Solutions. She says, “Functionality and beauty can live in harmony because it’s not about the size, but how you use the space.” See her use of multi-functional pieces of furniture to create various spaces in one area.

Aside from in-person interaction with home remodeling and design experts, spend time on your own exploring special show features. The theme of this year’s Upcycle Challenge, presented by Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia, is Hallway Envy. In its seventh year at the Philly Home Show, this sustainable decorating challenge finds innovative techniques to turn an often overlooked space into something fun.

Try get crafty at the interactive make-it-and-take-it DIY workshops, where you can keep your masterpiece at the end! Presented by The Painted Home, these hands-on projects include terrariums, chalk art, and more. In addition, local East Falls shop, Vault + Vine, has a luscious greenery exhibit that includes a DIY succulent bar. Choose from over a dozen options including your own stones, sand, and succulent variety.

Show Exhibitors

For those coming to the Philly Home Show with a mission in mind, choose from hundreds of exhibitors. Basically every home category will be featured. For construction updates, you’ll find contractors and leaders in renovation, remodeling, flooring, painting, and more. Have something existing that needs fixing? If you’re looking for light cosmetic updates, check out vendors in home entertainment, decor, cleaning, storage, and organization. That’s not even all! See the full list for more details.

A special exhibitor space called The Barking Lot is brought to you by Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PSPCA).
