  • Starting today, Dilworth Park Rothman Rink is offering free weekly classes led by professional trainers every Tuesday. Try this unique way to get fit during your lunch break in the new year.

From a songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, King has become one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history.
Wednesday, January 9
  • Ease into your resolutions with Shack Track & Field, a partnership with Shake Shack and Philadelphia Runner. Join the group for a free community three-to-five mile run on the second Tuesday of the month. Begin at Philadelphia Runner’s Center City and meet at the finish line at Shake Shack in University City.
  • Winter is the perfect time for comforting pierogies. Learn how to make your own at Mom-Mom’s Pierogi-al School: A Polish Cooking Class. You’ll leave with a dozen delicious potato dumplings. Plus, it’s BYOB!

Coming to the Kimmel Center, in partnership with The Bowery,  this woman is titled as one of the hottest touring acts in America, so don’t miss a night full of laughter.
  • The Discovery Center is partnering with the Yoga and Movement Sanctuary overlooking a formerly hidden reservoir in East Fairmount Park. The mission is to make yoga accessible to underserved communities, so these classes are free of charge.  
Sunday, January 13
  • Skip the boring brunches and come to Heritage for their Bluegrass Brunch. This week, Pennsylvania native The Keystone Mountain Boys are playing in the old-time style. Their menu has comforting classics like French toast and biscuits and gravy, as well as cultural favorites like shakshouka and croque madames.
  • Of course Xfinity Live! will be hosting the biggest Eagles Playoff party in the city. Watch the Birds take on the Saints in New Orleans on the 32-foot TV. Free parking will be available; cover charge will be $10.
  • Urban Village Brewing Company is expecting a packed house for the Eagles vs. Saints playoff game. The Northern Liberties bar features a dozen homebrewed beers, including a couple special releases. Pair ‘em with elevated gastropub menu selections like gnocchi, mussels, pizzas, sandwiches, and more.
