Travel Back to the Roaring ‘20s at Deco on the Delaware

Calling all vintage enthusiasts! On Saturday, August 4, you won’t want to be anywhere but Deco on the Delaware. For the fourth consecutive year, the historic Glen Foerd estate in Philadelphia transforms into a Gatsby-worthy party from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. With live “hot jazz” entertainment, picnicking along the Delaware River, and 1920’s themed vendors, this event is fun for the entire family!

Deco on the Delaware is a highly anticipated event, not only for Roaring ‘20s lovers. It’s great for anyone who loves a good reason to dress up. This premiere style event wouldn’t be complete without its fashion contest, of course. Attendees have the opportunity to compete for the coveted “Most Fashionable Flapper” and “Most Dapper Gentleman.” These awards go to those with the most creative vintage outfits. (Contestants will be sorted by the gender of their outfit, and not the gender of the contestant.) If you’re missing the perfect winning piece, try one the on-site vendors! Beautifully crafted accessories will be there for any last-minute outfit embellishments.

Of course, no 1920’s themed bash would be complete without the right music! For the ultimate throwback experience, attendees can gather around the main stage for music and dance entertainment. Michael Arenella, founder of New York’s Jazz Age Lawn Party and Deco Philly’s event producer, will take the stage with his incredible Dreamland Orchestra. In addition, hear the amazing tunes of Drew Nugent and the Midnight Society and Queen Esther and her Quartet. If these three ensembles don’t have you dancing already, dance lessons will be offered by the Dreamland Follies concluding their dance performance.

Tickets for the fourth annual Deco on the Delaware start at $45. Children under 12 years old are free. This year, there are five ticket options to choose from, including delightful picnic packages. For the ultimate experience, sail on the Gatsby River Cruise! Arrive in style on a replica 1920s commuter yacht, leaving from Penn’s Landing in the morning.
