Tuesday, June 14
- Stripes and Stars Festival Philadelphia celebrates the shared birthday of two of our country’s greatest institutions—the American flag and the U.S. Army! This takes place at locations throughout Independence National Historical Park and Historic Philadelphia. Events include flag raising ceremonies, a patriotic parade, giant flag folding demonstrations, and a moving naturalization ceremony.
- The 11th Annual Great Chefs Event The event brings dozens of high-profile chefs from across the country and around the world to the unique space of Urban Outfitters, Inc.’s corporate campus in Philadelphia for an evening of fun, food and charity. Tickets on sale now!
Wednesday, June 15
- Farmer’s Market at Dilworth Park Get your fill of fresh at this weekly farmers’ market, where everything goes right from the dirt to Dilworth. Health is definitely in season, and with an abundance of delicious food direct from the farm, you never know what deals might crop up!
- Kick off the Summer Night Concert Series with West Philadelphia Orchestra, an eclectic ensemble made up of some of Philly’s finest and wildest musicians. Join Penn Museum from 5 to 8 p.m. in their outdoor garden courtyard. Admission is $10, $5 PennCard holders, Penn Medicine / CHOP employees with ID.
Thursday, June 16
- The All-America BBQ will get you in the mood for everything summer with a series of fun activities and games, plus a social 21+ beer garden by the Dilworth Park Café. A variety of DJs and live music, along with tasty BBQ and other grill items, will make this one of summer’s not-to-miss events.
Friday, June 17
- Cliffhanger Movie Night in the Park Come catch an awesomely bad climbing flick with the American Alpine Club Philadelphia Chapter! They’ll have beer, burgers, and dogs starting at 8pm. Film starts at 9pm. BYO Chair/ Blanket.
- Kidchella 2016 Smith’s annual Kidchella music festival is now a 3-concert series! Hosted by Kathy O’Connell of Kids Corner on WXPN, Kidchella features family-friendly music that everyone can enjoy with a variety of food trucks. Kidchella is a rain or shine outdoor event. Tickets are $10 per person (children 1+ and adults), or $5 for Smith members.
Saturday, June 18
- The Neighborhood Gardens Trust is excited to celebrate the importance of community gardens with Community Garden Day! From 10AM to 1PM, visit one or many of these vibrant and unique growing spaces, which are offering tours, garden advice, demonstrations and more.
- Johnson House Historic Site in partnership with 6300 Block Business Alliance and Historic Germantown present the 10th Annual Juneteenth Fest! There will be historical Re-enactments, a cultural marketplace, entertainment, kids Corner, and a Pop-Up beer Garden! This event is free!
Sunday, June 19
- Tidal Schuylkill Boat Parade 2016 is a part of the Bartram’s Garden River Fest, from 11am – 3pm, enjoy food, music, pony rides, a farmer’s market, a pop up bike clinic, trick horse riding from Divers Stables, face painting, and more!
