The 13th annual Jessie’s Day “Give the Gift of Scholarship” is the fundraiser of the year. This event honors the late Jessica Beth Schwartz, who received a heart transplant at 14 years old. This life-saving operation gave her eight and a half additional years of life, and she lived them to the fullest.
Jessica went on to graduate from Harcum Jr. College and then continued studies at local Temple University before she passed away at the age of 23. To honor her memory, over the last 13 years, college-bound pediatric transplant recipients are granted the Gift of Scholarship to help them achieve their dreams of attending higher education.
The fundraiser returns this Sunday, November 8 from 1 – 4 p.m. at the Independence Seaport Museum, where guests will take in breathtaking views of the Delaware River Waterfront. Attendees can participate in an impressive silent auction while enjoying delicious food, drinks in the beer garden, and live music by Jersey Shore mainstay Secret Service. This is a band you won’t want to miss! Make sure to get your picture taken in the photo booth from Connected Entertainment, and make the whole family happy with a magician and a face painter to captivate the kids.
The Jessie’s Day silent auction boasts a diverse array of unique items that are sure to excite, from two tickets to see – and meet! – Carly Rae Jepsen at the Trocadero to a deluxe tailgating experience with Phan Cave.
