The Color Run | April 25

The Color Run probably needs no introduction at this point, but for those who are unaware this event is also known as “The Happiest 5K on the Planet.” Runners dressed in white are doused with handfuls of colorful powder in select sections of the run; starting off pristine and ending the race colored in tie-dye. The race has expanded to more than 300 events in 50+ countries in 2014, and is returning to Philadelphia for an even bigger crowd and even more fun. This event put a whole new meaning to dying at the finish line.

The Super Run | June 6

All of the Philadelphia Comic Con fans who can’t make it to San Diego this year are in luck, because this run combines a good cause with your favorite fictional heroes. The Super Run encourages all participants to dress up as their favorite superhero. Why? Well, because by participating you can potentially be saving someone’s life. The proceeds of this super event go towards the Wish Upon A Hero Foundation, Setting Scoliosis Straight, and American Association for Cancer Research, just to name a few.

These are only a few of the fabulously fun races are happening in the Philadelphia area this season, so if none of these are of great interest to you, there is still definitely a race out there for you! You just have to run out and find the one that suits you best. Get involved and make the most of your spring in the City of Brotherly Love!
