Philadelphia’s newest official corridor is a promising enterprise for the city that continuously boasts its prominence in the tech industry. Located between Market and Girard, North 3rd Street in Northern Liberties was formally redubbed “N3rd Street” (pronounced ‘Nerd’ Street) during this year’s Philly Tech Week; it’s the third of its kind to be adopted with custom street signs by the Philadelphia City Council, along with Chinatown and the Gayborhood.
The site’s manifesto – which is subject to change through use of smart collaborative host Hackpad – explains, “On N3rd Street, innovation respects our tradition and history, while our tradition and history do not fear innovation.” Gentrified by the cobblestoned, gallery-packed backdrop of Old City, this central hub of retail and business encompasses far more than tech venues, attracting foodies, art-enthusiasts and community members of all types.
So what are some of the many outlets you can expect to find along N3rd Street corridor?

Old City is such a gem of mixed personas and interests from high to low tech. Thank you Jess for thinking Sugarcube as one of your favorite shopping destinations.
It’s my pleasure! I work in Old City myself and love learning about the many exciting businesses and endeavors that initiated here! It can be tough to keep track of them all sometimes 😉 Thanks so much for visiting our blog and sharing!
Greetings Jess, Old City is looking better than ever. An array of new businesses have opened, relocated here or about to open. Some close along the way like AKA, adding to the collective Old City memory. Its a section of Philadelphia where the changing present makes the new past to help form the future.
