New Skyscraper to Redefine Philly Skyline, Economy & Culture

Besides local monuments and accents, skylines are at the top of the list of what defines a city. For almost a decade, Philly’s landscape has gone without any major changes, but coming soon to Center City is the Comcast Innovation and Technology Center at 18th and Arch Streets right next to the existing Comcast Center.

This major 59-story change to such a well-known skyline is a perfect allegory to the Center’s impact on the city. Both architecturally and economically, the cable behemoth’s positive contribution to the city has proven to be astronomical. Almost sixty floors of new jobs will be available through offices and workspace, not to mention the hotel and restaurant businesses going on the top floors. We’re already letting our imagination run with all the glam events that we’ll see there as well.

With its highest access point at some 900 feet above ground, the Center will undoubtedly lend itself to amazing views and photo opportunities. We can definitely say this is one thing to thank Comcast for!
