Fall is easily our favorite season of the year. It’s a beautiful time to be outdoors in Philadelphia, and there is no shortage of activities to encourage that. Sunday, October 6th is just one example of a jam-packed day of excitement – with something for people of all ages and interests.   October 6th is a perfect example of why we love Philadelphia!

 

WHAT: Midtown ViIllage Fall Festival

WHERE: 13th and Walnut Streets

Join more than 30,000 people for the largest fall festival in Philadelphia on one of our favorite streets in the city. From 12pm-7pm, 13th Street will turn into an outdoor street fair featuring live music, pop-up beer gardens, food vendors, and a plethora of arts/crafts vendors with their beautiful fall inspired creations.

WHAT: FIGMENT

WHERE: Clark Park, West Philadelphia

From 11am-5pm in the heart of West Philly will be a day filled of freedom, art, and creativity. This celebration encompasses art and culture transforming Clark Park into large-scale collaborative artwork. FIGMENT is a non-profit organization and welcomes participants of all ages to welcome this new event to the Philadelphia.

WHAT: The Susan G Komen 3-Day Closing Ceremony

WHERE: The Navy Yard

After a culmination of blood, sweat, tears and over 50 miles walked, join the participants of the Susan G Komen 3-Day for an emotional closing ceremony. At 4:30pm, the Navy Yard will be filled with friends, families and spectators from all over the area joining together to celebrate the strong and tough participants of this year’s walk.  Make sure to stop by the 3rd Annual Pinktober Fashion Show at The Hard Rock Cafe starting at 6pm.  All proceeds to the Susan G Komen Fund,

WHAT: 2013 Philadelphia Kidney Walk

WHERE: The Philadelphia Zoo

The fun begins bright and early for this year’s kidney walk. The official start time of this inspiring event is 9:00am at the Philadelphia Zoo. It’s a perfect day for family, friends and businesses to come together to support the awareness and prevention of kidney disease.

WHAT: Japanese Tea Ceremony Demo

WHERE: Shofuso House and Garden, Japanese Tea House, Fairmount Park

With Global Philly 2013 in full swing,  join your neighbors from 1-2pm at the gorgeous Japanese Tea House for their traditional tea ceremony. Members of the Urasenke Philadelphia Tea School will provide guests with a bowl of green tea and a seasonal sweet.

WHAT: Chestnut Hill Fall for the Arts

WHERE:  Chestnut Hill’s Historic Germantown Avenue

Chestnut Hill transforms into an outdoor arts and crafts marketplace during the Chestnut Hill Fall for the Arts Festival on October 6. More than 150 talented artists from throughout the country display and sell their creations in media ranging from watercolor paintings to jewelry. Live entertainment, children’s rides and alfresco dining round out the excitement during this free event.

WHAT: Philadelphia Eagles Take on the New York Giants

WHERE: MetLife Stadium – or any screen in Philadelphia

In the midst of all of your plans on Sunday, don’t forget to watch the Birds as they take the NY Giants at 1pm. Hopefully, we can redeem ourselves from last week’s game.  Go Birds!
