We love watching awards shows…mostly for the fashion.
Here are our top picks from the MTV’s 2013 VMA’s.
KATE’S PICK:
The second I saw that Navy Versace gown, I knew that she Selena Gomez would be my best dressed. Her simple straight hair dressed down this very complicated gown which was “peeled” to reveal a risque corset top. Even though it was revealing, it was not trashy (like other Disney Stars not to be named).
VICTORIA’S PICK:
This definitely isn’t Justin Timberlake’s first VMA rodeo… or NSYNC’s for that matter. Their “surprise performance” that lasted 110 seconds was definitely one of the highlights for the show for all 80s and 90s babies audience members. The boy band reunited to perform clips of Girlfriend and Bye Bye Bye along with a lot of dancing to show that they’ve still got moves after all these years. It’s crazy to think that it’s been over a decade since these men have been on stage together. This weekend they’ve proven that their outfits, moves, and harmonizing are still in sync.
ALEX’S PICK:
Danity Kane arrived with purpose on the red carpet last night at the VMAs. The four ladies clad in black and white outfits came bearing plenty of well toned, sexy leg (signs of dance practice!?). Danity Kane is said to be releasing new music in the near future. For now, their bold, modern group look is enough to hold me over until then.
GABI’S PICK:
Even though they skipped out on their much-talked-about performance, Daft Punk, along with Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers, win for fashion at the 2013 VMA’s in my book. These guys know how to do glam-robot right.
PAULINA’S PICK:
Model Coco Rochas VMA look was my favorite this year because of its mixed mediums. It’s the epitome of classy meets edgy with this structured black on black outfit topped with an incredible black leather bomber embellished with gold jewels and buckles. Her effortless slick back pixie cut completed get red carpet glam!
JESS’S PICK:
Holland Roland’s sweet pink ensemble was off-beat and couture yet still highly approachable. Her pant skirt was beautifully structured and glamorous, while the texture and patterns of the small, plainly fitted top created a fantastic balance between two such standout pieces.
