Philly PR Girl Sponsors the First Ever Beergasm Event

At the end of March, Philly PR Girl was very excited to be sponsoring the first ever Philly Beergasm at Yards Brewing Company.  We were joined by many other great sponsors including the fabulous Beer Cakes Philly, Collaborate Philly, Philly In Focus, and Drink Philly – just to name a few.  It was a no brainer to be involved in this event since the proceeds all went to Philabundance.

All the brewers represented at the event were exactly what one would expect from the tremendously growing craft beer scene here.  Kate’s favorite beverage was actually not a beer (not surprising for those who know her).  Her pick was Spodee Wine, which is made with a kick thanks to herbs, spices, and moonshine!  It’s very different than anything we’ve tasted before and goes great in specialty cocktails.  Victoria’s favorite drink was surprisingly the Handcrafted Vanilla Porter by Blaise Fougere, a homebrewer.  Not usually a big fan of porters, Victoria enjoyed the incredibly smoothness and true vanilla flavor without being overly sweet.

Not only were all the beers great, but there were delicious eats being served up too.  Bongo Zeptobrewery’s chef, Dan Berlin, found amazingly creative ways to incorporate beers into his menu.  A notable favorite was the potato leek soup with milky, flavorful beer bubbles!  Of course everyone was excited for the beercentric cupcakes that included flavors such as yellow cake with Yards beer and a more savory apple and bacon cake.
