I’m beyond excited to announce that for the first time in seven years New Orleans musician Kermit Ruffins is coming to Philly. The Blockley’s Philafunk Fall Series presents Kermit Ruffins & The BBQ Swingers along with The Mummers featuring New Sound Brass Band on Friday night. Kermit is a Jazz Trumpeter, Singer, & Composer. I discovered Kermit on HBO’s Treme as he is a frequent special guest on the show. After I discovered his music I started seeing him perform live every time I’m in New Orleans. He’s now a “must see” for me when I’m in the Big Easy.

Last time I was in New Orleans I met Kermit after his set. My friends and I all got him to “sign” us!
