Philly’s hot new corner for foodies!

Star and Vetri share the same corner!

Alla Spina

Part of the Vetri Family of restaurants, Alla Spina, opened in late February 2012.

Inspired by the love of Italian food and fine beer, Alla Spina strangely combines the two, but somehow it makes sense and works out quite well. Usually you would think Italian food and wine, but the Italian food that they offers is best of “pub menu items” and they create exciting new dishes you will be talking about the next day! I tried the Pig Pot Pie which was the most amazing pork I’ve ever had. You must try the Baked oysters with Parmigiano, lemon and parsley….#AMAZING! The decor is really interesting. It’s actually designed to look like a garage with graffiti on the walls and ceiling, and a big pig on top of the bar! It’s a great place to have really good food, really good beer, and sit outside while chatting with good friends.

Route 6

Stephen Stars, Route 6, specialized in fabulous seafood dishes straight from the coastal towns of Maine to Maryland. The decor is designed to make you feel like you are sitting in a Beach House in Cape Cod, which I love! They have a Route 6 Ale which was created especially for the restaurant by a New Hampshire brewery. Specialty dishes include the Lobster Roll or really anything from the Wood Grill. The only problem you might have is deciding what kind of Oyster to get!
