Monday, August 17

  • Learn about the benefits of a plant-based diet at a meatless cooking demonstration, hosted by the Free Library of Philadelphia. Class starts at 6 p.m.!
  • Need a new date idea? The LaRose Jazz Club is hosting a jazz night from 5 – 9 p.m., so come out and try something a little different but a lot of fun!

Tuesday, August 18

  • Enjoy a relaxing lunch break at Music in the Park iJohn F. Collins Park, this week featuring saxophonist Elliott Levin. The concert is from 12 – 1:30 p.m.
  • Celebrate Larry Bowa’s 50-years in major league baseball, as an all-star player, coach and manager at tonight’s Phillies game versus the Toronto Blue Jays. The game begins at 8:05 p.m., and tickers can be purchased here.

Wednesday, August 19

  • Head out to the Farmer’s Market at Dilworth Park for fresh fruits and veggies straight from the farm to the city. The market is from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m, and get there early to get the best picks of the day!
  • Hear some old school rock and roll tunes at the Penn Museum’s Summer Night Concert Series from Undercover, this week’s featured musical act. From 5 – 8 p.m., take a trip back in time with classic songs from the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Band, and more. 
  • If you’re a dog owner, or thinking about adopting, Doggie Days at Dilworth Park is the perfect event for you and your four-legged friend.  From 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., ask questions to professional trainers, get your pooch’s nails trimmed, and more!

Thursday, August 20

  • Wine, food, and good company; sounds fun, right? If it does, come to Pairings on the Parkway at the Sister Cities Park, from 5 – 8 p.m. It is BYO every Thursday with live music from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Logan Square Café will feature a special summer grilling menu to complement the wine theme. 
  • Dress to impress in your best white attire for Diner en Blanc, the world’s best pop-up party. The secret location is not announced until shortly before the dinner day-of, and there is still time to register for this exclusive annual event so don’t miss out!
  • Hold onto those last days of summer at Summer Festivus at Franklin Square with food trucks, a beer garden, mini golf, and more! Admission is free, and the festivities begin at 4 p.m.

Friday, August 21

  • Helium Comedy Club is a great place for a fun outing with friends. The stand-up act featured this night will be Natasha Leggero, 7:30 – 10 p.m.
  • The Philly Beer Garden Series is running every Friday until Labor Day, so make sure you get out to one of the last ones! Sip a frosty beer from Yards Brewing Company or Victory Brewing Company and have a fun time with friends.
  • Clark Park is hosting free movies every Friday until September 18, and this week’s movie is The Incredibles. And, if you are feeling creative, there is costume contest, so dress up as your favorite or invented superhero for the chance to win some fun prizes. 

Saturday, August 22

  • Calling all Eagles fans! Cheer on the Eagles against the Baltimore Ravens, with kickoff at 7 p.m. Get your tickets here.
  • Enjoy a free movie in West Philly for Movies on the Block! Come on down to the Kingsessing Library Grounds for a screening of The Boy and the World, sponsored by the Philadelphia Film Society. The film begins at 8 p.m.

Sunday, August 23

  • Looking for something to do with the family? Or maybe looking to explore some art? The Philadelphia Art Museum has a number of exhibitions on display, and what better day than Sunday to check them out. See all of the current exhibitions here
  • Make your way over to the Hedgerow Theatre for a fun afternoon with the play, No Sex, Please, We’re British. The play runs from 2 – 4 p.m.
