Here’s whats going on this week in Philly…

Monday, July 1st

  • Replica After Dark – The monthly artist showcase at design and print shop Replica Creative is the perfect pre-game to Wawa Welcome America’s outdoor movie screening of Silver Linings Playbook at 9 p.m.
  • Down the Shore 4 – Solomonov’s annual party, hosted at Morgan’s Pier, is back with a disco / European Jewish BBQ theme.
  • Mini-Golf at the Porch – Come hang out at the Porch at 30th Street for a few free rounds of mini golf and board games to play out in the sun! From 10 am to 8 pm.

Tuesday, July 2nd

  • Hope Chest Preview Party for Summer Sale
  • Grease – The Walnut Street Theatre has extended its run of America’s most popular musical through July 21st. $20 tickets are offered for those with ID under 24!
  • Photographers’ Twilight Hours – From 5:30 to 8 pm, photographers are welcome to take photos at dusk at the Eastern State Penitentiary. Tickets are $15.

Wednesday, July 3rd

  • Philadelphia International Music Festival – 14 days of intensive music studies from the Philadelphia Orchestra, separated by groups of students ages eight to 18. Check out the performance schedule here.
  • La Tauromaquia: Carnicero, Goya, and Picasso – This collection of artwork from reknown painters are focused on Spanish bullfighting in the 18th century. On display now at the University of Pennsylvania’s Arthur Ross Gallery.

Friday, July 5th

  • Taste of Philadelphia – Penn’s Landing is taken over by Philadelphia’s favorite food vendors at this signature three-day food-sampling event accompanied by live entertainment.
  • Paradocx at the Market at Liberty Place – Enjoy free admission and $2 off selected wines by the glass like Whitewash, Pail Pink, Barn Red, Chardonnay, Cabernet, and T wine at Paradocx Vineyard in Kennett Square.
  • Serrano Street Fare – Discounted food and drinks at Serrano are accompanied by entertainment during special off-season summer hours at their Old City restaurant. Be sure to check out the artists playing upstairs at the Tin Angel when making your reservation!
  • South Street Magic – $15 magic shows take place every Friday at Philly’s premier magic theater, presenting performers from all across the globe. This weekend’s show is a mentalist artist featuring “a deadly game of chance”.

Saturday, July 6th

  • Glow: Living Lights – The Academy of Natural Sciences’ current exhibit explores organisms who have the ability to create their own light source, including fireflies, glow worms, and rare creatures from the middle ocean. Open now through September 29 at $15 per ticket, and $13 for kids up to 12 years old.
  • American Sailing Tours – Experience the Delaware River in a whole new way on one of the Independence Seaport Museum’s tropical or historical sailing tours. Combo tickets include admission to the museum itself.
  • Feast Your Eyes at Dirty Frank’s – Philly’s favorite dive bar always has a rotating display of artists featured on their Off The Wall Gallery to entertain the local patrons.

Sunday, July 7th

  • The HYPE’s Sunday Matinee Special – Presented by Boy Wonder, the World Cafe Live hosts a lineup of talent downstairs at 5 pm for only $9.
  • Verbally Loose Re-branding Event – The ladies of Verbally Loose are celebrating a new logo, new website, and a new season at this red carpet event at the Wateriew Lounge on Delaware Avenue.
  • 2 Infamous 4 Da Streets – The 6th Annual Car Show takes place at Wito’s Tire Shop at 2500 N American Street from 10 to 4 p.m. Food, drinks, music, giveaways, and an after-party at Carlos Place.
