The annual MORE THAN PINK Walk hosted by the world’s leading breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen, is coming up on May 18, at a new location, the Navy Yard! The event focuses on raising funds, honoring survivors, and creating a support system for those in our local community affected by breast cancer. May 18th is quickly approaching, so get your friends and family together and join in to make a difference!
The event begins at 8 a.m. at the Navy Yard Marine Parade Grounds and leads into a Survivor Ceremony that will honor survivors in our community. The opening ceremony, hosted by CBS3 anchor Natasha Brown, will begin at 9 a.m., with the 3.1-mile walk beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Throughout the day, you will be able to take photos, connect with others, and see performances from The Mummers Ferko String Band and DJ Walter Smoothflicks. Make sure to stop by the Hope Village, where you can learn how you can make a difference and be a catalyst for change.
Susan G. Komen focuses on advocating for patients, supporting research breakthroughs, improving access to care, and creating a strong community with those fighting breast cancer.
