Philadelphia City Nature Challenge

Get outside and explore your wild side with the Philadelphia City Nature Challenge, happening April 25–28! By using the iNaturalist app guests can take pictures of plants, animals, or fungi anywhere in Philly and the surrounding counties to help the city compete in this global biodiversity challenge. It’s easy, free, and a fun way to connect with nature while contributing to real science. Whether you’re in a park or your own backyard, every observation counts!

Earthly Kiddo Delight

If you’re not one to be out in about in nature but still want to support the community serving and protecting our environment, then join Kiddo Restaurant this Wednesday night. This “vegetable-forward” restaurant based in Washington Square West will be hosting Earthly Kiddo Delight with all proceeds of the night going to the Philadelphia Horticultural Society’s Neighborhood Gardens Trust. Guests will dine on a delicious four-course meal consciously-curated by Chef Wyat Piazza. This experience costs $75 per person and reservations can be made here!

April 26 will be a day of community, celebration, and play! The Schuylkill Center is hosting an Earth Day Festival – Nature Palooza. In honor of their 60th anniversary, Nature Palooza will be one for the books including local food trucks, musical performances, storytelling, hands-on activities, and more! Give back to your favorite green spaces during Philly’s Love Your Park Week, happening May 10–18! Join hundreds of neighbors in sprucing up parks all across the city! Groups will be planting flowers, mulching trees, and getting parks summer-ready. It’s a great way to get your hands dirty and show some love to the places that make city life greener. Plus, many parks will be offering hikes, yoga sessions, and family-friendly events throughout the week!

Give back to our planet by utilizing eco-concious methods of transportation like biking! Hop on a bike with Indego and join one of their fun, community-led bike rides! Indego has locations all over the city with available bikes to rent. Switching out a car for a bike is a win for you and for Earth! Watch out for community rides and classes offered by the Better Bike Share Partnership to add to your calendar.
