This Week in Philly: April 18 – April 24

Good morning, Philadelphia! Welcome back to another fabulous #ThisWeekInPhilly! This week we’re not only celebrating Earth Day but all the fun events we have in store for you. With events ranging from concerts at The Fillmore to Pasta making 101, you surely will have a tough time deciding on plans. But hey, why pick one when you can do them all! So, keep on reading to learn about each and every event you’ll be going to this week!

April 18 
  • It is a deal you need to grab asap! National headlining comedian Taylor Clark will be at Tattooed Mom, ready to make you laugh until it hurts! Grab your $10 ticket now, and check out the show with possible surprise guests. Best of all, it’s at one of Philly’s coolest bars! 
  • Charli XCX has made her way to Philly on her 2022 tour! Playing at the famous Fillmore venue, enjoy a loud and jammed-packed night listening to some of her older songs and the newest from her CRASH album. Buy your tickets now, so you aren’t missing out! 
April 19 
  • New hobby alert, check out ProMo adult dance class! Take your artistic ability to new heights while challenging your body. This week’s class attendees will be learning contemporary jazz! This woman-owned Philly dance studio might have a hobby you didn’t know you could do! 
  • Join The Post as they host their weekly free Trivia night! With happy hour specials and prizes for the winner to take home what’s not to love! Each week there is a different theme assigned to the night, so make sure to study up on everything if your competitive side needs that prize! 
April 20 
  • You’ll definitely need to show up with an empty belly for this one! Join the Culinary Literacy Center as they host Chef Daniel Lee for their Pasta Making 101 class! This hands-on class will go step by step to teach you how to turn homemade dough into a delicious pasta dish! 
  • Join in on the conversation with authors Dolen Perkins-Valdez and Asali Soloman as they tell their own stories of seeking justice for their parents! Perkins Valdez is known for her books being the best-selling novels in The New York Times! Learn more about the book from the writer and truly feel as if you were there.
April 21 
  • Get wrapped up in a true-crime murder mystery case at the Horror in Hollywoodland event! Listen to a live storytelling of part one of the series Killers in the Hills as you sit back and play trivia over food and drinks! Leave your true-crime podcast at home and listen to one live! 
  • Have a night being wined and dined with a show by City Winery! Join them as they host John Waite for a spectacular performance featuring special guest Frank Viele! Feast on a tasty menu of the best foods, all paired with the best wines by the people who know it all! 
April 22
  • It’s Earth Day, and what better way to spend it than giving back to our plant by joining in on a community clean-up! Head over to the Village of Arts and Humanities building to meet locals just like you wanting to make our city clean again
  • There’s nothing better than a Friday night baseball game! Buy your ticket and grab your jersey because the Phillies are going head to head tonight against the Brewers! Show up and show out to give the Phillies all the love and support they need to win the game! 
April 23 
  • The Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation is back with their annual Sandy Sprint 5k run/walk! Located right outside of the Art Museum, the foundation raises awareness and funds to donate to further research in ovarian cancer. With live music and the option to attend virtually if you are out of the city, this is a must-go-to event for such a special cause! 
  • Wake up and feel refreshed after joining The Wellness Collective’s free online yoga class! Take some time to get your body feeling balanced and relaxed while taking the opportunity to chit-chat with people who have similar interests!
April 24
  • Chaddsford Winery is welcoming you and your four-legged friends for their Dog Days event! Enjoy a long day sipping on some of Chaddsford’s finest wines while shopping around at their provided pet vendors! Best of all, 10% of all purchases go directly to Brandywine Valley SPCA! 
  • Join DVLF to honor incredible people making a difference in the LGBT community when you attend their Heroes event! Cheer on the nominees, and all the work they’ve done for the community as they receive their award they so rightfully deserve!
