Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition is here in Philadelphia, and you will not want to miss out on this one-of-a-kind experience! The exhibit will be located at the Philadelphia Fashion District beginning today, January 21, through February 20.

This exhibit has been all around the world from Shanghai to Chicago, Phoenix, Berlin, Vienna and more. The exhibit showcases Michelangelo’s awe-inspiring ceiling frescoes, originally created at the Vatican Sistine Chapel in Italy. Michelangelo was not the first painter chosen to complete the Sistine Chapel. He proved his skills as a young artist with his breathtaking work for the chapel and gained recognition. He is now considered one of the world’s greatest artists of all time.

This unique exhibit replicates Michelangelo’s original work while presenting it from floor to ceiling for viewers to see even the finest details in brush strokes. This exhibit allows attendees to see the most famous work of art without the cost and restrictions of traveling to Italy.

 

There are 34 displays within the exhibit including, The Creation of Adam, The Last Judgement, and many more prestigious pieces. The reproduction of Michelangelo’s work was curated over time with mastery and given a close eye to detail to mirror the original work. Even if you do not recognize each piece on display, the exhibit has signage next to each one detailing all information about the work of art.
