Brenna Hagan: Social Media Assistant
Currently, I’m a junior studying PR/Advertising at Widener University. Since the university is only fifteen minutes from Philadelphia, it’s a must to hit up my favorite city spots on the weekends. I love exploring different parts of the city. Recently, I’ve fallen in love with the Manayunk neighborhood.
NOLA in PHILA
My favorite pick for Saturday brunch is Bourbon Blue in Manayunk. Their menu is inspired by the flavors of New Orleans. The restaurant boasts an amazing view of the Manayunk Canal and often has live music. When the weather’s nice, I always find myself spending hours here relaxing with friends in their outdoor space. The tater-tot poutine is literally to DIE for!
Take a Ride
My recent favorite pastime is biking along the Schuylkill River Trail to Manayunk’s Main Street. Even with the cooler weather in full swing right now, I love being outside and going on a digital detox for an hour or so. Usually, I reward myself with mint chocolate chip ice cream from Tubby Robot as a post-bike ride treat.
Pizza My Heart
One of my favorite places to meet up with friends is at Barra Rossa in Center City. I steer clear of gluten, and their menu has awesome gluten-free accommodations. It’s so nice to still indulge in some of my favorite pizza and pasta dishes. 10/10 would recommend the buffalo chicken pizza here!
