Alice Paul Equality Gala Celebrates 100 Years of Women’s Voting Rights

The first-ever Alice Paul Equality Gala in Philadelphia is coming up on Thursday, January 16, 2020. This year’s fundraiser celebrates the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage. The event is honoring one of the most influential leaders in the fight for gender equality, Alice Paul. All proceeds from this event will benefit her organization, Alice Paul Institute.* Their mission is to honor gender equality through education and leadership development.

The 2020 centennial celebration will start off with a VIP Reception featuring a champagne toast to kick-off the night. To follow, there will be a reception with fine dining and drinks. Keep a lookout for the featured specialty cocktail! Among the best parts of the reception is the networking. Guests have the opportunity to meet the inspirational speakers in attendance.

After the reception, there will be a celebratory equality presentation dedicated to Alice Paul. It will speak to her everlasting impact on the Constitution of the United States with her work to ratify the 19th Amendment and extend voting rights to women. Speakers for the presentation include Rebecca Roberts, an American Journalist and daughter of Cokie Roberts.

After the presentation, desserts and closing will commence. Justice Bell Foundation is a special partner, giving the gala a local touch with a replica Liberty Bell on display. In addition, future female leaders of Philadelphia Girls Choir will be performing a short piece.

Get your tickets today by visiting the Alice Paul Institute website. Come support Alice Paul Institute’s work to train and inspire future leaders. Together, we can achieve Alice’s vision of lasting legal gender equality in the United States.

Alice Paul herself said it best,

”…there is nothing complicated about ordinary equality.”
