This Week In Philly

Summer is officially (almost) here! The summer solstice and Full Strawberry Moon is upon us. These magical moon powers are bringing us a week of out-of-this-world events. 


 

Monday, June 17
  • Join Lauren for Twilight Yoga on the pier, under the Full Strawberry Moon. Open yourself up to receive all the celestial gifts the full moon has to offer.
  • Ten weeks left until The Philly 10K with Philadelphia Runner. The official training plan starts with a 3-mile group run to Shake Shack Center City.
Tuesday, June 18
  • The Moyer Street Park is asking for your help in the designing process of this future park. Come to a design workshop to iron out the details on the park layout before permitting with the city starts.   
  • Adventure is out there, and it’s at Goose Island Brewhouse Philly starting at 7 pm for Disney Pixar Trivia. Play FIVE unique and challenging rounds on all your favorite Pixar movies.
Wednesday, June 19
  • The All-American Cookout is a free and festive five-day jubilee that celebrates the official start of summer. Now through Sunday, June 23, this Dilworth Park tradition takes America’s favorite summer pastime and adds a generous helping of distinctly Philadelphia flavor.
  • One sign that it’s summer in Philly: free outdoor movie screenings. This Wednesday’s schedule includes Avengers: Infinity War at Woodside Park, Jurassic Park on the roof at Sunset Social, Pretty in Pink in the Haas Biergarten at FringeArts.
Thursday, June 20
  • Get ready, Philly! Dead & Company are coming our way to our favorite summer spot, BB&T Pavilion. Join the Grateful Dead and John Mayer for their summer tour that never fails to make for a perfect night.  
  • We’re doing flips over this event, literally. Cirque du Soleil: Crystal is putting on their A Breakthrough Ice Experience at the Wells Fargo Center.
Friday, June 21

Saturday, June 22
  • Manayunk is pleased to bring the 30th Annual Manayunk Arts Festival, celebrating three decades of the best variety of fine arts and craft. Nearly 200,000 national collectors, buyers, and designers will visit Main Street for this event.
  • Reading Terminal Market is celebrating National Caribbean American Heritage Month and Immigrant Heritage Month with the 6th Annual Caribbean Day. This day is filled with live music, cultural exhibits, face painting, and more!
  • Back by popular demand… Spend summer evenings in an urban oasis at the Rodin Museum Garden Bar. Beer and wine will be available for purchase; BYO picnic. Then, cool off inside with works of art by the master sculptor August Rodin.
Sunday, June 23
  • The Radio 104.5 2019 Summer Block Party season kicks off on this Sunday at Xfinity Live. with performances by Catfish and the Bottlemen, Flora Cash, Oliver Tree, and Matt Maeson!
  • Come out to Cherry Street Pier’s Art Star Pop Up Market. This event will feature 30 curated arts and crafts vendors selling a diverse selection of handmade goods.
